Tom & Joe's Restaurant, Altoona PA

This place is a staple of the community. We were served by the granddaughter of the person who started the company! The food was reasonably priced and quite good. The staff looked like the liked working here and were very nice. This is the kind of mom and pop joint you read about in books! Worth visiting.

An exciting and entertaining place. The staff is excellent and quick. The banter within between the kitchen and staff is fun and reminiscent of typical old time dinners. The food is excellent! Highly recommend to all.

If you're looking for good diner food in a nostalgic setting, Tom and Joe's is the place. The decor and tableside jukeboxes will take you back to the 1950s!

The ziti special was delicious, and at under $10, was a bargain. The menu featured a wide variety of sandwiches and meals.

I like a restaurant with a friendly, neighborhood feel. The staff at Tom and Joe's made me feel as if I were a regular!

The filet mignon was excellent and the waitress was a sassy ball of Fire if I were only twenty years younger!

I stopped there after my sleep study I was in the mood for a breakfast but they didn't open till 7: 00 so I didn't wait around I went home but I've had breakfast there before it's very good

If you're looking for an upscale experience, look elsewhere. If you're looking to be transported back to 1974, this is the spot.

This diner has all the charm you could ask for. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel like you've been transported back to a time most don't remeber.

I was able to order one pancake, one piece of French toast. And that's when I really fell in love.

The pancake was better than I could have imagined, the French toast could use a bit mote love.

When you order your breakfast potatoes, your options are with peppers and onions or not, big added bonus. They were amazing! Yes, more notable than the Omelette.

Fantastic breakfast. My plate was maxed with hot, delicious food. The service at this place is something ALL restaurants should measure by. Great waitress, constantly checking, and the owner comes by to check also. A great way to start the day!

First time eating here today and the last. My stomach is so twisted right now its driving me crazy. Something I ate got me really sick.

Great breakfast! Mine was to go cream dried beef on toast with homefries. They were thoughtful enough to keep separate until I got back to the hotel so the toast wouldn't be soggy!
