Unemployment Information Center and Philadelphia Unemployment Project

Please note- this location is NOT the unemployment office. The Philadelphia Unemployment Project is a non-profit group working hard every day to try to help struggling folks. It seems like many of those who wrote earlier reviews thought they were reviewing the state unemployment office instead.

6 months after I applied for unemployment and still nothing! First they claimed I never registered. After filing appeal, they determined that I did. Then they said I'm not eligible due to my green card. A month later, I received a letter saying that I always was eligible and would receive payments in a few days. Nope. Called the number they gave me incase I dont get payments and it's always a busy tone no matter what day or time of day. Someone finally called but I missed the call. Called back with extension and left voicemail on his phone many times but never received a single callback. Called BBB and Consumer Reporting.

No longer exists. Visited the building and was told that it was shut down. They didn't update the online information yet.

It don't make any sense that it's taking almost 3 months I have been filing every week and its still saying processing! Can't get thru on the phone line always busy and yall don't respond to email,! Get it together!

If I could give no stars I would.by far the worst run department in our state. I have called over 200 times in the past 3 weeks and only busy signal.emails sent with no response back.literally insanity.

My husband got laid off Dec 23rd and he is still waiting for his unemployment claim to be processed. You all know that I am a tax payer. Why should I bother to pay PA taxes? Here is the deal with the state. If you want your money then give me my money.

Unresponsive to emails, no one answers the phone. We are literally being hung out to dry. And theres nothing anyone can do about it.

If I could leave 0 starts, I would. I applied back in March and still haven’t received anything. The new updated system won’t let me log in and every time I try to it says “Contact staff”. When I actually do call, no one answers. The state of Pennsylvania has been a disgrace and very unprofessional!

I am on assisted housing. I was on unemployment at the beginning of covid. About 5 months ago I was asked by housing for my PIN number. Since I had been off unemployment for a while I had forgotten it. I have been trying ever since to get that number. Ive emailed several times and waited a month to hear back where they said they are too busy to comply with a request each time. I call several times daily and the number is ALWAYS busy. I have gone to tge local office and its closed due to covid. I am now losing my assistance due to not providing housing with that information

Trying since the end of January for a pin. Refill again in March still no pin. Said call the 188 number always busy. So what is a person supposed to do

They have never answered one of my many phone calls.im still looking for my back pay from almost 6 months ago and cant get a hold of anyone.really frustrating.

My husband filed back in sept he didn't get his first check until dec 17 2020 here we are in Feb he is filing his biweekly claims n still no payment the phone don't work they never answer it rings n hangs up we have called everyday 40 tob50 times the office is closed we have sent 11 emails no answer we are behind on all our bills next step for us is to go into a shelter this is so bad they need to send everyone there payments but these ppl get their pay checks and where is all of our money this is disgusting

I applied over two months ago, got rejected for absolutely no reason and haven’t heard back about my hearing date or any information from anyone. The phone line has no humans, the online chat has no humans. Does anyone even actually work for the unemployment office or is it just a myth? This state couldn’t care less for people who are suffering. It is an atrocity.

Do not go here the office is no longer located in this building 112 North Broad Street it was a total waste of time and money for nothing but guards said there are no offices in Philadelphia that he knows of all right let's just got to keep wasting your time calling

I AM A COLLEGE STUDENT! I am the oldest of 7 kids with a single parent. This system has really proved that they don’t care about us. Especially at a time so fragile as this. The fact that they still hadn’t figured out a way to get to the thousands of people who still don’t receive unemployment till this day. A year later and still hasn’t fixed it I’d beyond me. I shouldn’t have to call over 200 times. Calls shouldn’t have to drop while I’m on hold for an hour. I’ve been tryna get a hold of someone for the past 3 days and get nothing! It’s so frustrating that I want to cry because I didn’t put myself in this situation! UNEMPLOYMENT PLEASE GET IT TOGETHER OMG!

This place is so stressful to deal with I filed my claim 5 months ago never got one cent of my uc benefits I kept calling and kept trying the chat customer service but it kept saying please try again later, I even emailed these guys like 4 times nothing no response to
reassure me that my claim is fine and the money is coming I had to sell most of things in my apartment to get by, just started working this month they need to do better or get some help in there it’s just crazy.

Literally the worst.these people are terrible there are people out here struggling and they won't even answer the phone. This state is a joke

I tried to call to ask about my unemployment but nobody is answering, I kept filing my biweekly unemployment and still haven't received a single payment from them. I am currently still unemployed and receiving no money from them. At this point, I'm not happy like everyone all over the states.

What a joke! Call and always a busy signal it’s complete trash wish I could give no stars at all. Can’t believe no one can get this right at least give ppl the opportunity to wait on hold!
