Owners are abusing a dog they are using to guard their business by leaving it outside in the cold. They put up a tarp to hide the dog after they were reported.

Get the dog outta there. That’s so messed up. Who is stealing 1000 pound granite slabs? The dog doesn’t need to protect the material in there. Get a lock and call it day.

*PLEASE SHARE* For the last three weeks this dog has been left outside in the cold weather. PSPCA did an investigation but the owners showed them he had access to get inside the building.which after stopping to see him and knowing people who stopped there at night doesn't appear to be true since each time he was inside the dog house pictured with no insulation or door that is able to be shut. Multiple mornings we saw him shaking outside. The business is Universal Marble and Granite LLC in Philadelphia. 1934 North 2nd street Philadelphia PA 19122. The dog is located at their warehouse 253 W Lehigh Avenue Philadelphia PA 19133 in the side lot and is used to 'protect' their storage inside so he's left there 24/7 in a yard filled with trash. After writing multiple negative reviews on their site for their neglecting of the dog the owner put a tarp around his entire outdoor area.giving him no access to see anyone.we tried to stop by when we could to give him food/water and positive interaction and now he won't even be able to see us. If anyone can bring awareness to this, not support their business, write negative reviews and give any advice on what we can do further I'd appreciate it Jazmin Bello-Andeliz on Facebook

They keep a dog outside at all times in order to “protect their business”. Get with the times and use security cameras or sit out there yourself if you’re so worried. If you wouldn’t sit out there all those hours, in these conditions, why would a dog. Horrible. So you put up a tarp now so the dog can’t even see outside of the gate you keep him trapped inside of. What a disgrace.

DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE BUSINESS! THEY USE A DOG TO"PROTECT" THE PROPERTY, THERES SECURITY SYSTEMS FOR THAT. DOG IS NEGLECTED! PURE DISGRACE AND IGNORANCE!

This business has a young dog living outside to 'protect' their storage unit with no access to food, water or adequate shelter. You'd think they could afford a security system and give this dog the life he deserves. I'll be sure to let everyone know to never purchase from here again until this animal is safe. He lives in a confined space covered in trash and is left there to fend for himself. So horrible to see. I'd give 0 stars but I'm not allowed to in order to post this. I hope this animal is safe soon and finds a loving home

Get rid of the dog. Exactly like someone else said, get a lock and call it a day or move locations. Clearly you guys can’t afford proper storage, this dog shouldn’t have to suffer because your business has poor security. We are way past guard dog days, it’s 2023 wake up. If someone really wants to steal from you, trust me that dog isn’t going to do anything in that city. Give up the dog.

Does anyone actually come by to see the dog besides jazmin herself? I always get food across the street from the place after I get off of work and I see people coming in and taking care of the dog everyday. Even in the afternoon when I go grab lunch I see people working inside the area, and one of them usually goes in to play with the dog and walk him around the property. And the entire area is riddled with trash, especially since there is a homeless man living next to the lot in his car which has been there for months collecting trash. I don’t know the owners but I see them enough everyday over there to know they are taking care of the dogs needs. I see him get to run after work and get walked and played with in the afternoon everyday. I do not see why she is making these absurd claims.

This business should be ashamed of themselves! They have a “guard dog” with no food, water or adequate shelter. This isn’t 1935, get a camera system and let that poor dog be a dog! This dog has been out in the cold and I can’t imagine what the summer time will be like given there is no grass and just all black top. Don’t do business with this horrible place.

@ Marissa, Mara, Erica, and Natalia are making false claims about a situation they have no knowledge on. First, they all posted the same review within the same hour which shows they are probably friends trying to bring down the business together. But I have seen the owner play with the dog every day and the dog has plenty of food and water (he is fed daily). The food is INSIDE the building, in which he gets to go inside whenever he wants. He has an extra insulated dog house outside if he chooses to go outside. He is not neglected and is safe. He does not live outside, just chooses to go outside a lot. The trash is from homeless people who trashed the place and because he likes to rip up his toys/beds that are given to him weekly. Please don't make false claims about a situation you know nothing about and especially because you never even spoke to the owner yourself and just made these assumptions. The only thing the dog may be lacking is showers.
