University Park Airport reviews
19TSA and gate agents are always friendly. Precheck is a huge bonus since there is a priority line for precheck. From curb to gate is usually less than 5 minutes for experienced solo fliers. Plenty of snacks before and after security. Water fountain with bottle filler and places to charge your phone.
Literally shouldn’t even be called an airport. I’ve had the misfortune of flying from here a multitude of times. Not once in over 10 flights have I left on time. Maintenance isn’t on site and takes over an hour to arrive and all the planes here need maintenance. Literally save yourself the headache and drive to Philly. It will save you time and money.
TSA needs to reassess their PRECHECK process—one line and calling for people with PRECHECK passes makes no sense when there are 10 people in line. My bag were on the belt and the person with a PRECHECK pass had to literally squeeze their bags in. Have two lines if you truly want to offer that service. In my opinion it’s not even necessary, especially with the small amount of people moving through security at any given time.
Absolutely the worst airport in the country. Website never works, flights are always delayed and there’s no options to fly. Just the worst companies to choose from. Car rentals are never available either.
I want to root for this airport. Really, I do. Unfortunately, after trying it many times flights out of University Park are chronically late. The employees have zero sense of urgency or concern for passengers who are all missing connecting flights. I’ve literally seen an attendant coldly dismiss an elderly person who was scared about missing a connecting flight. Flight crews are regularly late or just straight up missing. It is the most inconvenient and inconsiderate “airport” I’ve ever experienced. Do yourself a favor and fly out of Pittsburgh especially if you want to make it to your destination on time and prefer quality customer service.
An obese, possibly around 40 or 50-year-old white female TSA screener was very rude and uneducated (She could also be racist). When you tried to talk to her, she would interrupt and not listen to you. Besides her, everyone I met at the airport was excellent.
Nice little airport. Small restaurant inside and very clean. You have to walk out on tarmac to board which was ok because it was nice out. Rental cars and baggage are easy to get to.
Worst airport ever. Tiny, no amenities & no restaurants. If you get stuck here, it’s literally & figuratively!
Small airport challenge, can never count on food and beverage services being open, will forever condemn it to four star status. On the upside, incredibly easy to navigate, smooth security processes and easy and reasonable parking.
The people working here deserve the best! I accidentally booked a flight out of the wrong airport (the correct airport being in Pittsburgh 3 hours away). The members working there not only let me know I was at the wrong place but helped me secure a flight at a later time. They we so nice and honestly the customer service was top notch. I wish I knew their names but the individual who helped me realize my mistake and found someone to fix it was God sent. I hope she gets paid what she is worth!
I’ve had delays or cancellations at this airport 3/4 times I’ve flown out over the years. I expect it at this point. I’ve heard the same from all the other pssangers too. Currently waiting to hear if my flight is canceled or delayed now, and need to change all my other plans on the fly. So cool:)
I loved this airport in Clash in the College! Great depiction. Kind of surprised the bags come out on belts that don’t move though.
Great airport. I worked there from 1993 to 2001.boy has it changed.everyone was very friendly, got through security quickly. Thank you TSA!
It's confusing if you're only used to large airport. Security checks are only available certain times and that's not made clear. Nice and clean. Staff is friendly but lacking so sometimes it takes a while to find an employee if you need assistance.
When you turn on the road, it's not immediately clear where to go. We pulled into the first area that appeared to be a terminal, only to find it dark and locked. Unsure what to do, I called the number and got voicemail. At a risk of being late, we continued down the road and found the main arrival/departure area. It would be helpful if there were signs along the road indicating the passenger entrance. When you arrive at 0530, it's difficult to ascertain where you should be.
Other than that, the ticket agents were pleasant and helpful. Security was not at all pleasant on the entrance side. I know security isn't in the business of hospitality, but I've had many more pleasant experiences w TSA than we did today.
Not much else to say. It's a small airport, no amenities, clean bathrooms, water fountain, etc.
Love the convenience of direct flights close to home. It's pain the bathrooms at gate (after security check pt) are closed for remodeling. Couldn't you have kept one open at a time until remodeling is done?
I love the small town airport with National and International access. Comfortable seating area and a fast, easy check in process. Yep its a small airport.thank God!
Airport staff are wonderful. Problems with cancelled flight this trip- due to staff scheduling problem with the flight. Will roast United on their site. Evidently they can’t plan ahead for a crew member shortage
Very clean airport and the people couldn't work harder to take care of a problem. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of an airport to start our trip.
