UPMC Express Care, Harrisburg PA

Let me start by saying I rarely ever leave reviews… That being said this particular office does not deserve even 1 star rating. Receptionist is extremely rude and unprofessional. Seemed like she was bothered by the patients. Waiting area is not very clean and there is barely enough room to seat 4-5 people. Will not be back. If you are seeking compassionate care I would not recommend them. Save your time and $.

This place is terrible. Went here, needed to get seen asap. Had body aches, hard breathing, dizziness, headaches, head congestion, etc. Walked in, went up to the lady at the front desk, and she was very rude. She asked how she can help today, so I said my symptoms and how long I've had them. Or at least I tried explaining. Well, she interrupted me right away, and asked "well do you have an ID of sorts and health insurance card? " My insurance needed renewed, and was in the process. Well she said there'd be an upfront payment of $120. And she said I could not be billed, it had to be right there and then. Which is bull, especially when it is "urgent care. " Seems to me, this place is more about their money, than their care for individuals and the care for health of people. If I could give a 0 star rating, I would.

Staff here is always very thorough, personable, helpful, and attentive to my medical concerns. The wait usually isn't very long, and the doctors or nurse practitioners take their time in their appointments with you. I have had great results with treatment after every visit. I saw nurse practitioner Tammy today and she was fantastic, gave practical advice, and had a genuinely caring bedside manner.

I wouldn’t even give them one star but that’s the only way I can make a comment. The ladies at the front are LAZY AND RUDE. Upmc WAS my PCP but I changed the entire practice because of these women. Y’all trash for sure.

I’ve never been treated better and with more compassion and care than today when I went in and saw nurse Tammy. She’s so great and really took her time addressing my problem. Thank you so much!

I just left there an hour ago. The staff is very professional and friendly and care about your health. They went above and beyond to make sure I didn’t leave there not knowing what’s going on with me. Thank you very much. I would 100 percent recommend to everyone

I Came Here Because I Was Crunched For Time… I Called Before Going To Confirm My Insurance Would Be Accepted. The Receptionist Was Very Nice & Even Though There Were Several People Waiting I Was Seen Relatively Quickly. I Got STD Testing & The Nurse Practitioner Insisted On A Pregnancy Test So I Did That As Well. I Paid $25 Copay & I Thought That Was The End Of It. Then I Got A Bill In The Middle Of January For $1,286 After Adjustments It Was $797.55 & I Am Baffled That Such A Simple Visit Was So Expensive! I’m In College & Don’t Have A Lot Of Excess Funds So I Asked Them If They Could Send Me Forms To Apply For Financial Assistance & I Never Received Them - Now Penn Credit Corporation Is Sending Me Statements & This Is Most Likely Going To Affect My Credit.

I don’t know if it’s because the office is short of staff, that they’re just hiring anybody. The place is so so unprofessional, staff are just eating in the business area and just playing on their phone. I walked in with my son and the staff who was eating smiled and said something to the lady who was playing on her phone, shortly after she turned around and asked “how can I help? ” The whole areas’ where we were taken were dirty I can only image that’s what the whole facility looks like. Ever time I call the office no one answers and you cannot leave a voicemail, but they tell you to call with any questions. This place is the worst, I can see why people don’t usually want to associate with any place that has to do with Harrisburg.

I will never go back to this so called urgent care again no matter how sick I am. The lady at front desk was so unprofessional and rude. It was after 7pm so she didn’t want to search for my insurance and told me I couldn’t self pay and had to go to ER. I was laying over counter in tears in pain. I wouldn’t have been able to wait Long hours at ER nor should I have had to. She spoke to one person in back who said I couldn’t be seen then after I kept insisting she asked a provider who said I could self pay and be seen. Same thing happened to patient of a young child after me. The child had to use the bathroom and she kept saying she had to finish first. Then told the mother she couldn’t self pay and made her leave. I was there before closing and unable to walk due to pain. The people in the back weren’t rude like her but the care didn’t make the experience better. I received meds. I could go on but i won’t. No matter what I’ll never go back. My cousin took me and she will never go there due to this experience

Called and asked if they accept my insurance for a work physical, the lady I spoke with said yes even after she checked to make sure. Even told her it was for a childcare position. Get there and she says NO and no one ever called. So I hit redial right in front of her and now she’s looking surprised that the phone rang in the back so she darts in the back because she know someone gave me false information! Unprofessional!

Went here this morning for my daughter because she had a splinter that was inside her foot.the nurse who attempted to treat my daughter did not get the splinter out because it was in too far and then she end up stabbing the tweezers on my child’s leg because she had the object by my daughters leg when she turnt over, which caused her to have an opened wound.she patted her wound and stuck a bandaid on it.didn’t even attempt to clean it or anything smh.it’s like where do they find these type nurses at i usually do not have bad experiences at this facility.i know not to let any of mines get treated by her again

The staff attitudes here completely suck. They need to learn how to be professional and not so rude. Never coming back here again.

After calling numerous times to get seen by Concentra within the 1-mile vicinity from UPMC Express. After already feeling miserable sick with the flu I was told that the Urgent Care Systems were down. After already paying for transportation 2 X. I came to the next nearest location which was the Express Care.
Front desk service showed a lot of professionalism and very willing to help. It really made me feel welcome because sometimes when you're sick you're almost expecting to deal with some things that you don't necessarily have the energy for nor the time.
Today I was treated by PA. Meghan Edwards. She didn't rush me and try to get me in and out where I would forget to tell her my symptoms or maybe forget what I was really there for to begin with. I felt like I was actually being treated and that I had a say regarding my treatment. I not for a second felt judged by her as I sometimes have experienced it in the past. Overall I felt a genuine friendliness as well as a professional courtesy of excellence.

No appointment. Got in. Got my prescription and flu shot. Got out. Surprisingly quick. Better hours than CVS Minute Clinic.
