Every person I’ve known who has gotten treatment or help from this hospital has passed away or gotten worse being there. I’m hoping that soon that it will change and everyone there and that will be there is safe and healthy!

Rushed infant into hospital with severe fever. Nurses confirmed that he was in critical condition but could not put an IV in. Instead of sending him to specialists in Hershey right away, they waited two hours to send him to Harrisburg. Harrisburg hospital sent him straight to Hershey, where they luckily revived him. This inability to act quick almost cost this infant his life. I recommend that this hospital send seriously sick children and adults straight to a hospital that is ready for these types of situations.

The worst place to go. They don’t take your concerns seriously. Have been in numerous times with pain, sat for HOURS only for them to tell me there is nothing wrong when obviously there is something going on. I would not recommend this hospital AT ALL!

Also the X-ray lady who works in the ER, you should probably know that the patient has all right to refuse any procedure! She stated “Are you the doctor, are you giving orders? ”. First of all, you NEVER say that to a patient, secondly… maybe find a different job.

I can’t say enough good about my stay at UMPC Hanover Hospital. All of the nursing staff went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were met!

The worst ER service ever! Employee in triage said wait was going to be several hours and if we wanted to leave then do so! Went to Gettysburg Hospital and was seen right away due to abscess of appendix! Avoid this place! Oh and UPMC - no I don’t want to fill out your stupid survey that you reply with on all negative reviews!

My feelings are mixed! However my daughter delivered her baby here and the nurses were great! They were so nice, helpful, and understanding.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I saw a dr roach in April. He misdiagnosed me. Told me he ran all tests possible and came back to say I had Charlie horses in my chest…. Gave me a muscle relaxer that I had said 4 times through my visit I was nursing so had to be breastfeeding safe. I went to the pharmacy and to my surprise wasn’t at all. The pharmacist told me there are a handful that I could defiantly take but this was not one. So I went 5 months having what I thought was Charlie horses in my chest. Just drank water and tried to relax even though they were AWFUL. I went to an urgent care the beginning of September and the doctor ran no tests. Just listened to me and looked at me. Told me it was my gallbladder and to go to this doctor and this date. A week later I got it out. I had multiple stones. I will never see dr roach again. I could have been saved months of pain if I saw someone else that actually listened to me and my concerns.

My advice. Go to Hanover hospital. But if you get dr roach ask for another dr to look over his diagnoisis or ask for another dr in general. It’s not just that he misdiagnosed me. He just flat out didn’t listen to me at all. Not about what was wrong and not about the fact I was nursing my son and needed a safe medication. I know mistakes happen. But this was blunt disrespect.

I wouldn’t bring my dying plant into this hospital to be treated.

Took my 5 month old in to be checked out due to his cough, congestion and breathing retractions.

Mind you- we were the only patients in the waiting area.

The triage nurses were phenomenal.

Once we got into the back to see the PA and his minions, I’m not impressed.

PA strolled into our room, leaned against the wall, crossed his arms and said “what’s going on? ”. I went on to explain why we were there. Never once did he check his belly retractions. Never looked over him. Just listened to his chest with a stethoscope and checked his ears which he claims were “clear”. Chalked it up to probably “just a cold”, because his O2 was reading 100.

The most they did was swab him for RSV, Covid and the flu. Told us to “check the portal” for the results. Never offered a breathing treatment. Nothing. Sent us home.

Followed up with Hanover Pediatrics this morning. My baby has RSV. They gave him a breathing treatment immediately AND sent us home with one. He also has an ear infection. Hats off to this practice for their diligence and the overall care they gave my son this morning.

Do better, Hanover Hospital. You’re atrocious.

PS- the Maternity Ward is incredible and shouldn’t be associated with this train-wreck.

Been sitting in the ER waiting room with my sick dad since 11 am this morning now its 11 pm and he still hasn't been seen, i think it is ridiculous to make people wait over 12 hours just to be seen never made it past the waiting room beware of this place

The ER here is an absolute joke, my wife and I are here and have been waiting here for about 2 hours now waiting for her to be seen because of her having a migraine and being sick, I’ll tell you, if this was York or Harrisburg we would’ve been in and out by now, these people need to have a class action lawsuit brought against them, because I’m willing to bet that if someone came in and they were dieing. They would end up kicking the bucket before they would even get seen. This place is highly unprofessional and the worst hospital I’ve ever experienced

Worst hospital care in the ER and pcu. Didn't care about blood coming out of my father's IV. Had no concerns about a "air in line" warning on IV.

Took 10 minutes plus to answer any calls.
Night nurse was horrible, caused pain to my father and ignored his concerns over and over.

Asked for multiple blankets and only received 1 blanket.

The aid was rough as hell and yelled at my father for expressing concerns.
Couldn't even fix a bandage right and didn't have correct equipment with them.

Overall horrible staff and just don't care about the patients and give attitudes when concerns are expressed. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

ER is a joke. Mom came in, in the ambulance not able to breathe and they did nothing to help. She sat by herself for hours. When she hit the call button they got an attitude. So she left and ended up back 2 days later. With the same lousy ridiculous service. They admitted her because she was that bad, and the ladies up on that floor were just as horrible as the ER. She asked for help getting to the bathroom and she was ignored. It's sad when you would rather check yourself out and go home and possibly die then sit in that hospital. When you talk to someone higher up it's excuse after excuse. I know things are crazy these days but if you were told you had a heart attack and you're having trouble breathing.that should be a priority! Completely ridiculous!

I have been waiting on the emergency department with my 5 year old son for over an hour and am yet to be seen. Yet 4 people have been seen before me. When I asked the receptionist she stopped reading her newspaper for a moment to tell me he was next. Since then they are still taking other patients. No one was even waiting when we got here. I do not recommend this emergency department if you have an emergency. Further more we ended up leaving after 4 hours. We never saw a doctor and the only time we even spoke to a nurse was when I asked for a supervisor and to ask for discharge papers due to lack of care.
