UPMC Presbyterian Emergency Department reviews
8One of the worst hospitals I've been to. Not worth going to for a simple ear infection. After three hours of waiting for the doctors, I left and went to a different hospital.
Avoid. You must wait for resident. Nurses hands are tied. No evaluation. No pulse ox, no IV, no vitals, no labs, no nothing. Last time here was sent to ICU with same symptoms. Her MD sent her here for best care. Nurses are efficient and caring, considering the number of patients requiring their expertise.
The residents are slow and preoccupied. Inattentive to the patient's description of why ER was chosen. Resident fills gaps with own narrative. No a good way to diagnose.
Give Nurses treatment plans and standing orders. They can function and help residents clarify pts complaints.
Massive thank you to all the ER staff. They where amazing and super considerate of my needs and the needs of my service animal. By far the best care I have received in a ER with my service dog ever. A stark contrast to UPMC western MD. Again thank you so much to all the ER staff!
If you have to go to an ER, the care at Presby is fantastic. Great doctors, nurses, and staff.
I would have rather been turned away at the door rather waste time and money here. I spoke with a resident doctor who had his supervisor come by and talk to me for about 5 seconds, to which it seemed like he was not interested in all. I was given some paperwork (which I already had from the UPMC Urgent Care the day before) and sent on my way. All in all, I paid a 175 dollar co-pay and spent 3 hours just to leave in the same position I came in. I could have just Googled this information.
Horrible snappy people from the desk to the doctors and nurses even the housekeeper. I even had to ask them to do an EKG BECAUSE MY HEART WAS SKIPPING BEATS AND THEY WANTED TO DISCHARGE ME WITHOUT ADDRESSING MY CONCERNS. THEN THE NURSE GOT EVEN SNAPPIER AND YELLED AT ME.
Was just seen at Presbyterian Emergency.for chest pains
The doctor and nurses were excellent. I was a little "short" with them and they acted very proffesional with me. Great doctor and staff. Thanks again. Dr Buchanan. Very kind
I went to the Emergency Room for severe tooth pain I waited for hours and I was told 2 different things by 2 different doctors. I left in more pain than when I got there, they gave me a dose of antibiotics (with cold water while I was there for tooth pain and I had told them that the cold hurt) but they would not give me anything for the pain (Naproxin) before leaving, just prescriptions that I would not be able to fill until the next day. And still being in pain I asked for help getting home and was just given a bus pass and told that those busses were still running (it was hard to even think while my face throbbed and I had a bad headache from it). Worst experience ever! Update: I woke up this morning and now have a big bulge on my lower jaw so apparently they just made it worse.
