Very, great experience! Dr. Rushby and her assistant are the best. I'm not a fan of going to the dentist, but they do their best to make it a pleasant visit.
Also the office ladies are always so nice.

Dismissed my concerns by checking me for less than a minute and sending me back saying I have no issues. Terrible dentist and place for you or your kids.

All the dentists are honestly great. Dr Rifkin did my braces as a kid and he was phenomenal as well. I stopped going when my dental insurance changed. I was seeing a different dental practice and figured I would go back to upper merion since I was going there years prior. I’m pregnant and according to my OB certain things should and shouldn’t be done while pregnant. I do truly believe this practice knows what they are doing. My review is based solely on an experience I had with a dental hygienist. Maggie has a disgraceful bedside manner. From the get go I said I’m dealing with a lot of sensitivity right now. I also am 8 months overdue for a cleaning. She couldn’t tell me if a numbing gel was safe during pregnancy. She told me she was not an OB. I then had to tell her I didn’t want to do X-rays. Which I was told prior from my OB to absolutely not do. Although Maggie said that xrays were fine during pregnancy. Especially if I was having an issue. But I thought you weren’t an OB and couldn’t answer these questions? I also went in with no serious issues except the fact that pregnancy has made me overall very, very sensitive. I was nervous about getting a deep cleaning done when pregnancy has already taken alot out of me. So as I’m dealing with a woman who has an awful tone and an annoyance to her when she talks to me, this is making me second guess if doing the cleaning at this practice is the best choice for me. Some hygienists really do what they need to make you feel at ease. Others don’t. You are in someone’s mouth with sharp tools. I get it. It doesn’t feel pleasant. Although my overall feeling was she didn’t care about my concerns, she was going to be rough and aggressive regardless. I did speak with a dentist who was there and he was great in reassuring me of what to expect and what some of my concerns were. Unfortunately at this point I was already so worked up and not comfortable with Maggie what so ever. I should of just told him this and asked for someone else. Completely my mistake in not doing so. What’s interesting is my sister who also visits this practice did cleanings there for her entire pregnancy. The hygienists she saw were clear and informative of what wasn’t ok during pregnancy and what was. She was able to have an easy conversation with them about what she was concerned about. They even checked in with her to make sure her comfort level was ok.
I felt so uneasy during the uncomfortable situation of going back and forth with Maggie. I ended up not doing the cleaning because from the moment she took me back there was a rude tone and negative energy to literally everything. I’m coming to a professional to get a teeth cleaning. If you don’t have the answer to something, then ask a dentist. If someone seems uncertain or anxious, you can try to be reassuring and kind. I get that nothing is guaranteed but don’t respond with a tone that conveys you are annoyed. You might just be cleaning someone’s teeth but the way you choose to talk to people sets up the entire experience moving forward. A simple solution would have been to simply say I hear your concerns. I understand them. I’ll check in with you during the cleaning to see how your comfort level is. Communication and empathy is key. This woman did not have that.

I had a very pleasant experience here! Came for a cleaning as a new patient and everything from scheduling to meeting the doctor was great. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment as recommended and was taken to the back right on time after I got registered. The staff is super friendly and would absolutely return.

These people are so unprofessional used to take my kids there since they had their first tooth. Still, I had to change dentist To the one in Plymouth, Which is so much better because at Upper Merion, When I took my kids there for a cleaning, and this happened twice, they would check my kid's hair they had long hair And a little Dandruff back then by the way this was like 3 to 2 years ago They accuse my child of having lice my kids never had lice they didn't do the clean because they Thought they did It Tried to give me a prescription for the shampoo. I refused it was early and CHOP in King of Prussia nearby, so I took my kids there. To confirm and a note, I told CHOP I was just At the dentist's office trying to get their teeth cleaned, and they wouldn't take my kids because they accused them of having lice CHOP checked. And told me I was right that they didn't have lice and gave me a note. I When back to the Dentist office to Show them And to see if they could still get their teeth cleaned but couldn't have to Reschedule, So when I did come back For the appointment, they took them in did the cleaning, and when they came out they had The nerve to ask me in front of everyone if I needed another prescription for the lice shampoo like really did you not read the doctors note they never had lice they were wrong, so I change my kids since they Try to embarrass me and my kids In front of others Over something that they got wrong.

My kids (ages 3 and 5) have been patients here since they started seeing a dentist at around 2 years of age each. It feels like a mill. When you make an appointment, you don't know what dentist you will have. I've never seen the same dentist twice. The older guy who started the practice is great and by far the best dentist there, but we've only been fortunate to get him once.

My biggest gripe is with the administration at the office. It feels very unorganized. And even though they have your insurance ahead of time, they won't tell you while you are there what your out of pocket costs with be for various services. I may have foregone some items had I known the charges while we were there versus being surprised when they later emailed me a bill. And so far, I haven't received a response to my inquiries.

Front desk people service is not good, We have an appointment in December month. When we visited dental clinic suddenly they said no appointments available with this name. Not sure where went wrong. Very disappointed by this situation. Again schedule an appointment which we get available in February month. Not a good service

I moved several years ago from Colorado where I had the same dentist for over 20 years! When I came here I was in need of a dentist. I found Upper Merion Dental and was a bit surprised by how chaotic the office appeared. They serve adults and kids. They divide the waiting rooms so at least you don't have to sit next to screaming kids. The front desk staff is a hit and miss as to how friendly they are. The dentists and hygienists are all very nice, once you get past the front desk. I would recommend them, but you need to get passed the craziness!

This dental office is horrible. The office staff is rude and very unhelpful. I had been told by 3 people and a return phone call, my insurance was accepted then up treatment have been charged more than half the bill due to now miraculously my insurance is not accepted. Hidden charges that were not billed to the insurance. Upon service, was told I didn't have insurance. When trying to resolve the issue, the staff was very rude and could have cared less what was told to me as a patient. I ha e tried to resolve the issue and no one really cared.

This place will do anything with your children to get their money. I brought my 2 daughters there (4 & 1) and they insisted on taking my 4 yr old back by herself. When I went back with my 1 yr old I could hear crying from a few rooms down. I recognized it as my daughter and started looking for her. I found her crying in a room ALL BY HERSELF! They left a 4yr old in a dentist room alone. I refused to leave her at that point and made them see us together. The Dentist took me aside after and told me since my daughter was so scared they would need to put her under to fill her 2 cavities and would send me to someone who could talk to me about a payment plan. We left that day and never went back. We found Dr. MISSY in phoenixville who took her time and built a relationship with my daughter in 1 visit and was able to fill both cavities with just some laughing gas. DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO UM DENTAL!

Horrible horrible place. I’ve been coming here since I was kid. I didn’t start having issues with them until I became an adult. They do not care. I received a bunch of fillings for my cavities a year ago. The woman who worked on my teeth was so rough on my gums and I pretty much felt everything even though I was numbed out. I spoke up about it all but I don’t feel as though I was taken seriously. Since then I have the worst gum pain ever. I can only have soft foods for the most part.

Used to be a great place, remember going here as a kid. BUT I can't say the same for now. It's been quite a while since my daughter's been there but it's because I can never get anyone in the phone to make an appt EVER. And then outta the blue I'll have an extension number calling and leaving me a voicemail from "Susan", who I can never get a hold of our anyone for that matter when I call back, left them a voicemail a month ago that never was responded to and now the inbox is full so you can't do that either. Ugh

I called to tried to get my kids an appointment, the woman wouldn’t let me schedule a 6 months cleaning. I gave her the reason and still wouldn’t let me schedule. Furthermore, I won’t every be bringing my kids to this office.

This office is all over the place. Total disarray, lact organization. They don't listen, they are quick to take new patients then stiff you with unnecessary bill. Double charge insurance
when clearly I told them a cleaning was already done the only thing my daughter needed was a tooth fixed. Don't waste your time there, walk in and see for yourself.

My friend took her 3 yr old here today. They asked her to step out while they did an x-ray. She was standing in the hallway they asked her to go to the waiting room. When no one came to get her she went back to the room. Her son was in another room getting a cleaning and a fluoride treatment which she specifically asked them Not to do. This place does whatever they want with your kids to get their insurance payments. This place may have been good once but its sinister to try to bully parents into handing over there kids.

The practice did relatively ok with my first daughter's treatments. However with the other they supposedly submitted her case for insurance approval but 4 months later, no response. Then they "resubmit" and within a week we have a denial. Still no follow up, but she has two plans that cover, no response on the other. The practice appears to be very disorganized and communication is tough. They take messages that unfortunately go unanswered. It wasn't great before the pandemic and perhaps the pandemic has exasperated the communication and operation processes but meanwhile we're here on the sideline with time just passing by, We're now at 6 months. Still nothing.

Went in enough excruciating pain.and an hour later I left completely pain free. Next day no jaw pain, the needle site is not sore. One of the better dentist experiences Ive had in years. If you're not a fan of the dentist or oral drilling, I recommend the upper merion location. Root canals are cheaper at the specialist. New endodontist is not my fave.
