Vallozzi's Pittsburgh reviews
12Fancy looking, but not so great food. Too simple, not enough flavor. Ingredients seemed upscale though. Got a Pesto Gnocchi that was hard and tasted plain garlic and black pepper. Pizzas are not actual pizzas, more of a toast-flatbread-ish thing. Best thing is the complimentary bread.
I was not thrilled with my dinner. However, my daughter loved hers. She had the squid ink pasta and said it was delicious. My Chicken Milanese (which is my go to meal when offered on any menu) was not served in the traditional way which I happen to prefer. Our server was very good.
Had to return the following evening, the experience is that good
Fantastic service coupled with Electric Chair meal!
5 Star's all week and twice on Sunday!
Food so delicious, you slow to savour each bite!
Outstanding desert and homemade lemon cello in assorted flavors
Our first visit to celebrate our daughter's graduation from Point Park university and our experience was incredible. Our server Eva was friendly, personable and extremely knowledgeable. Her suggestion were perfect. The entire staff were friendly and work together to make all the customers feel special. Jen the manager came over to ask how are meal was and our visit. Julian the owner was in the restaurant and came over to ask how we were. I am looking forward to dining there again soon. Definitely a gem for Pittsburgh. Highly recommend!
Jen, Allie, Margaret were the best. Service was great! Crab cakes the best! Best place in Pittsburgh!
Came in to grab dinner, the hotel sent me there and the restaurant staff was not interested in any type of accommodation for placing a go order even after speaking with two different employees. Margaret the host wasn't at the door so I had to go looking for her, she immediately told me I would not be seated. I asked for a manager and requested to place a go order, Like pulling teeth. Rude, the dining room was seated at 30 percent and 70 percent of the tables were empty. I explained I had a show at 645 but no.so then I place a order and the manager (Jen) ask sees me taking photos and asks me what I am talking photos of. Tells me I need to leave. Because I'm waiting for my food I tell her I need to get that order. She was aggressive and argumentative and threw my change down on a seat beside me. Not even handing it to me. Wow so disappointed. I got zero napkin or utensils. So it's a hard pass for me.
Really excellent execution of both creative & authentic/traditional Italian dishes.
Burrata & octopus appetizers were both great; particularly the octopus in a delicious pesto, wow. And attention-to-detail on the smaller things, like perfectly charred greens & peppers to accompany the burrata is what really impressed me.
Parma & Beet salads both excellent.
The bolognese is authentically Italian (meat forward; not as “red” sauce heavy as is often Americanized) - it was VERY good, especially with homemade noodles.
Service was very attentive as well - Christian was terrific and gave great recommendations while managing several tables and doing it all, really.
We had high hopes by viewing the menu and the execution surpassed them by far - compliments to the chef & the team here!
Delicious! Table service was wonderful. Items came out of the kitchen and bar slowly but we still had a wonderful meal. Will return!
The service was fantastic, and the food was just as fantastic! A great quiet place in the middle of the city.
Food was fantastic and staff was friendly. My only complaint is that the fire alarm went off right after we ordered dessert and kept going until just after we left. I know they had to wait for the fire department to shut it off but they didn't offer to comp anything from the meal. That seemed a little cheap considering how long we sat through the noise.
A really fantastic dining experience. Excellent service. We had a larger group, with extra needs and they took great care, while offering some really delicious dishes. Two people in our group claimed it was the best veal they've ever had, and the pork chop was on point. Definitely next level. Really great cocktails too. Wow, highly recommended.
As other reviews has suggested, the food was so salty. The risotto was basically inedible because of it. Probably won't be going back.
