Veltre's Pizza, Pittsburgh PA

Just a great all around Americana food selection. The better half of me says the pizza and wings is the best in Pittsburgh so far and she's from Buffalo.

Let me start off by saying their food is delicious and their staff very nice. However, I am giving a low rating because of their partnership with GrubHub. That company is horrible. GrubHub added over $6 in delivery and service fees, which I was willing to pay since it was an occasional treat, plus my usual (20%) tip, only to have the driver refuse to bring the order into our building because the suite wasn't in his instructions. I entered it on the order and it was on my email receipt, but not his. His supervisor said that was not their problem, and he can't help it. This may sound trivial, but when spending that much extra for delivery, it needs to be delivered. Unfortunately, this cost Veltres a loyal customer, and I will never use GrubHub.

This location has been my go-to for several years now. I've never had a bad meal, and the service is always solid. Their white pizza is some of the best I've ever had. I love that they use chopped tomatoes instead of sliced. Excellent steak sandwiches, and the grilled chicken salad is another favorite of mine. If I am having guests over and we're ordering pizza, this is where I order from. I feel really fortunate having a place like this that's within a 5 minute drive of my home.

Veltre's pizza is awesome and the steak and mushroom hoagie with xtra steak was delicious. Kudos to Veltre's

Was working up the street. Not often there is a pizza place so near our job sites let alone one with such nice people and great pizza!

Consistently good pizza. With Covid you pick up the pizza through a window adjacent to the parking lot. I eat here every time I am in pgh.

Veltre's is my spot! Consistently great pizza, the best cheese steak in town, fast delivery! Everything you want in a pizza place.

I love their calzones and grandma's pie. They staff is always so friendly and delivery is prompt even on busy nights. I've also heard that their hoagies are great too but I love calzones so much that I haven't tried them yet.

Seems pretty expensive for the food quality. Not enough and the wrong kind of sausage for a 17$ calzone

It kinda sucks that since you guys moved you don’t deliver to the places you use to! Some customers don’t have a car to drive to Braddock hills and want good food! You guys have great food! But I’m literally right off the street you deliver to and you won’t just turn right to get to my house! Not cool! I wish you can make a change! I would spend my money but y’all dont want it so

My biggest regret is it took a nearly 5 years before someone mentioned this place to me. This pizza is hands down the best I've ever had.

The one in swissvale Was good. But the people up here are diccheads make the wrong order in get smart about it

Best pizza on the east side of town. Been eating at veltries for 25 years. Good people, good food.

I'm so fortunate to have a Veltre's close by! I crave it! It's everything you want in a pizza (+) place! The pizza is fabulous- from the perfectly baked crunchy crust, to the flavorful sauce, up to the pepperoni and melted cheese! And the salads are fresh and so satisfying! Having one tonight with a slice, and I'm really looking forward to it! Oh, did I mention that the staff is great? ! Well, they ARE!

Stopped by during my lunch break and got a cheese steak. Service was fast, food was great. Mancini's bread. Need I say more?

Was just delivered cold food, when I called to ask why they no longer delivered to the door I explained that my food was cold. I was told that I just took it off the grill, have you bitten it? No I replied I touched the meat. They didn't seem to care, is there anything worse than a cold burger and a sweaty pepperoni roll? Very dissatisfied. They normally do a good job

Been goin to veltre's 26 years the pizza is great but I just paid over18.50 for 8 cut pep with cheese crazy

Veltre's has a comprehensive menu, similar to most great neighborhood pizza joints. I am typically a pizza purist and stick to toppings like cheese and pepperoni, but on a whim I tried their Buffalo chicken pizza and found it to be top notch. The chicken is good quality (not rubbery or fatty), and the sauce is definitely "Buffalo" without being overpoweringly hot. Their Tonno Tuna sub is also very good.

They apparently don't deliver to Wilkinsburg, even though the delivery address is within their delivery area.
