Italian Restaurant Versante reviews
14 The food was GREAT.
Nice scenery and the staff was professional and friendly. Lastly, the atmosphere was welcoming!
Dinner on porch was lovely. Service and bussing was excellent. Food and drinks were fab. Will go again
Very nice experience. Plenty of parking, full bar, good food. I got the chicken parm w/ vodka sauce, it was very good. Bread / sauce they give was delicious. I recommend going!
We were there the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend for a dinner reservation at 6: 30. As we arrived, a valet took our car and parked it for us. We waited about 5 minutes for a table on the porch. The service was a little slow, but they were very busy. We ordered our drinks, then read over the menu for our orders. When the waitress returned we ordered our meals and did not wait too long for them to arrive. The food was very good. I had the pork cheeks carilladas. The noise level was high, but tolerable. The restaurant is very is to find. I will be going back.
First time there. The food was very good and the service was friendly and they answered my questions regarding menu items. I would visit this restaurant again to try a different menu item. Many sounded delish.
1. We were a group of 10 and were placed in a side room just off the bar. It was so noisy you could NOT hear the person sitting across from you. The whole restaurant needs to have sound proofing like heavy curtains, and things to absorb noises.
2. Wait Staff were all excellent! We had 3-4 different staff checking to make sure everything was ok. It was a shame the food and portions were not up to the wait-staff level.
3. Portions were so small, we ALL walked out hungry, and most of us stopped on our way home to get something else to eat. The soup were small, very watery, not much taste, and could have been a can of Progresso. The deserts were all tiny and not worth ordering.
4. Need to have better description of what is in each dish on the menu. Most non-Italian people probably don't know what it is by the name and the description left a lot to be desired.
5. Being Italian we ate Polenta 4 to 5 times a week. It is supposed to be a wee bit sweet even with wild mushrooms added, everyone that had a portion offered me a taste of theirs and it was so bitter it was almost uneatable.
6. I should have realized that the quality was not up to par, simply by the spelling mistakes in the on-line menu and the physical menu in the restaurant. For example, "sweet pea" was referred to as "sweat pee" with the on-line menu. They did correct the "sweat" in the restaurant's menu. But there are other words mis-spelled.
7. It is obvious that they care more about the Wine & Beer List as it was much more extensive than the Dinner menu. This may explain why so much noise and the amount of people at the bar.
Not one person from out party will be going back a 2nd time. It's a shame as the building was beautifully remodeled a few years ago, as I had dined there when it was the original Woodside Inn back in the late 60's!
A simple dish transformed.
The salmon cooked to crispy perfection, over a well paired bed of farrow broccoli rabe and cauliflower medley,
Next time I order polenta with it!
Great service
This place is a hidden gem
Will be back soon
I’m hooked
We visited here for the first time for Easter dinner. The maître d' promptly greeted us and guided us to our table located near the fireplace in a spacious dining room. The decor was pleasant yet somewhat sparse. The walls were devoid of any artwork and the appearance of the room would have benefited from coverings on the wood table tops. Throughout our visit we found our server to be personable and appeared genuinely interested in our impressions of our experience. We began our meal with expertly prepared beverages, fresh oysters, and the best calamari we have ever tasted, fresh and tender. The superb Basa Francese consisted of a delicate whitefish, in a lemon white sauce, topped with jumbo lump crab over cappellini and spinach. We finished our meal with a very pleasant crème brûlée and coffee. The prices here were commensurate with the experience. We surely will return.
Very disappointed! Have eaten here twice Food and drink wonderful BUT twice called way ahead for reservations and twice now was told that they didn’t have it! I am done!
What a nice place to go for dinner with friends or just your family or significant other! Food is phenomenal. I got the veal parmigiana and it was nice an thin and tender and the tomato sauce tasted fresh. They also offer gluten free penne. The food came out fast. Jack our waiter was great. Funny and attentive. The restaurant is nicely decorated too. I will recommend to all my friends.
I love this place but have a very disappointing meal. Tuna Appetizer was tuna that was over cooked, pre cooked. Shrimp and Lobster Risotto had three shrimp that were over cooked and only 3 to 4 pieces of small Lobster. Please work on the food. Maybe I need to order something different.
The food was very good. The service was pleasant and frequent. We sat outside on a rainy night and it was a bit on the chilly side, but I look forward to dining here again when the weather is nicer.
Service from Alex was fantastic! You can tell he has a passion for the industry.
Came here with my husband tonight- we live locally.
We each ordered three courses.
The starters were great, entrees were just ok, and desserts were extra yummy.
We definitely plan on coming back to try out more menu selections, and hopefully having Alex as our server again!
