Villa's Shoe Repair reviews
12 I've noticed that reviews for this place are either excellent or terrible and I found that my experience was square on the lower end of "meh". I brought two pair of nice women's leather high heels in for small repairs and cleaning.
Pros: speed of service (dropped off Thurs, ready for pickup Mon), location is easy to get to.
Cons: quality of repairs was so-so. Definitely not good as new (they're fixed but you can tell they're fixed) and it seems like there wasn't a lot of love put into the repairs. (this seems silly since people who repair instead of replace shoes care about quality and details).
Probably will try somewhere else next time.
The work was very well done and was fairly priced. I took in a purse for a minor repair and it's as good as new!
Terrible customer service. I called ahead of time to plan a shoe drop off and settled on a finish date. When I got there, they said they were too busy to do it in time - even though they gave me their word over the phone. Do not go here if you don't want honest business. Incompetent and rude.
The owner does exceptional work. I’ve had several pairs of shoes and boots re-heeled over the last few years, but I’d never needed new soles until now. I took my Frye boots in last year and he told me that I could get in another year of wear before they need new heels or soles. I really appreciated that. I brought them in this year and he replaced the heels and soles- he did a beautiful job. The soles are thick (maybe a millimeter thicker than the original, which is fine with me because they’ll last longer) and seamlessly placed. I’ve been a customer for a few years but I’m impressed by the excellent craftsmanship on these soles. Prices are fair- it is expensive, it’s worth it for the quality of work. Also, I’ve found that it’s much cheaper to spend money on quality shoes and quality repairs than to buy new, poorly-made shoes all the time. I’m glad Villa’s shop offers such great quality at reasonable prices.
Fix rivets. I have gone to five different repair shops today, and none of them will replace the rivets that have popped from my shoes. The man here wouldn't even recommend a place to get it done.
These folks do an awesome job, and go the extra mile on a cleaning/polishing to even include touching up the shoe. Great service!
They did an awesome job restoring a pair of beat up dress shoes. Dropped off a pair shoes to have the soles replaced, since I can't let these Aldo's go. They also do bag repairs.
The owner who works here does almost everything himself. They only take cash so be warned before you pick up your shoes. I asked him to add a rubber sole to my allen edmond's and he did an incredibly well done job, I can barely tell they were added on!
Charged an obscene amount to replace melted zipper on my combat boots. (I melted it while blowing glass. It was super obvious which zipper was broken.)
They replaced the wrong zipper and demanded I pay another $50+ to have the correct zipper replaced.
Never come here.
Re-soled a pair of leather dress shoes for me. Really great job done on the does. They re-welted properly and seemed to use a quality leather sole. Definitely will take my shoes there in the future when they need to be re-soled instead of sending them to the manufacturer.
I don't rate anyone a 5 but Villa's is great! Have bn using them for years, taken shoes here dozens of times, he keeps them looking fresh, re-soles, re-tips, plus he's prompt, did emergency repairs a few times, always gives me a smile. Highly recommend!
Very satisfied. Awesome work for a fair price - saved me from having to buy a whole new pair of work boots. Expert craft.
