Visionworks, Pittsburgh PA

Everyone is extremely friendly at the downtown location of Visionworks (in Fifth Avenue Place building). Dr. Shuba is excellent. He really takes the time to explain things well. Very thorough and extremely knowledgeable. Jasmine was also a big help with picking out new glasses. I never feel pressured into a glasses sale. The woman who did my initial pre-exam workup was wonderful too (I wish I caught her name- I remember her saying she lives downtown). Everyone in the office is so personable and kind. Extremely pleasant experience every time I've been there and I completely trust Dr. Shuba with my eye health! I pay out of pocket and it is still extremely reasonable. Visionworks is great about sending out coupons too so I was able to get a discount on my new glasses, which ended up being less expensive then even the discount websites for glasses. Absolutely excellent experience all around. Worth the trip downtown to go here! Thank you to Dr. Shuba & staff!

I went here about 2 years ago for my first pair of glasses. I had gone to a more expensive retailer for my exam without knowing their prices. I had an awesome experience getting my first pair of glasses. The staff then were welcoming and warm. That is why they get 2 stars and the second woman I encountered at this visit. This time I had scheduled online and they gave a 5pm appointment availability not aware they closed at 5 so I took it. I left early trying to account for rush hour but ended up late by 10 minutes due to construction. I'm very personable by nature and I am very understanding of policies. It was the way I was greeted by the first woman and a third woman that rubbed me wrong. I was treated as if I wasn't welcome and told they took someone because of my lateness. She told me I don't know if he'll see you and I was so taken back by the reception I almost just left. I waited and the next person was way nicer. She asked me to reschedule and looked me up. The other woman also had an attitude informing her No going along with the first woman. I had my 7 year old with me who even felt the negativity. She asked why they were so mean to me! I just said I would contact them when I checked my schedule. I just wanted to get out of there. I won't be returning to this or any other location.

I actually love many workers here but the receptionist is just plain rude. I got off the phone with someone about 5 minutes ago, and I was very kind to her while asking questions. She answered the phone already in an aggressive way, and on top of that she didn’t say one “Thank you” “Have a good day” “Can I help you with anything else? ” Just hung up in the middle of me saying thank you to her. Very very rude and dismissive. Why do you work in customer service if you can’t be kind to customers asking a simple question? I will not be scheduling here anymore.

Absolute worst customer service ever. The store doesn’t even pick up their phones and when they do, you are greeted by an extremely rude employee.

Once again had a great experience at visionworks. Went to target optical because they took my insurance. Had to return my glasses. Went to visionworks and paid out of pocket and they got it right, as usual. Alicia is always a great help.

I was received very warmly and helped by very friendly staff, and the lady who helped me pick glasses was very patient and even helped me make a decision.when I was leaning to a bad choice, she did not hide her dislike of my choice. Thank you very much, ill continue to come to this place!

I had a wonderful experience at this Visionworks! The location is very convenient and it is easy to schedule an appointment. The entire staff is so kind and accommodating. Dr. Shuba is very knowledgeable and extremely thorough. Because the appointment was not rushed, I was able to get my eye prescription just right! Alicia did a fantastic job helping me to select a beautiful frame that suits the shape of my face & high prescription level. She is very patient and has a keen sense of aesthetics. I highly recommend this Visionworks!

I had a wonderful experience at vision works in pittsbugh pa downtown fifth Avenue place. I had 3 hours to kill between doctors visits. I have anxiety issues.and walked in to make an appointment.they asked if I had time today they took me right away.
They were wonderful, what a wonderful staff. I could not have had a more pleasant experience.a special shout out to Corey thank you I really enjoyed your help today he made me feel so comfortable. I would highly recommend them.

I wish there were more than 5 stars - the general manager, Michelle could NOT have been more helpful. Her task wasn't easy as I brought in a broken old frame for a relative who was recently hospitalized. I believe most managers or employees would have said, "sorry I can't help you". Actually there 2 other places that DID tell me that before I called Vision Works and Michelle encouraged me to come in, saying "I'm sure we can help you". I wasn't sure but she turned out to be right. Give her a raise.

I definitely recommend Visionworks downtown Pittsburgh. They were so friendly and quick. They even went above and beyond to help me during my insurance issues! I recently had to switch eye doctors and I am so glad I decided to switch to them.

The folks at the Fifth Ave. Place Visionworks are always so pleasant! It's so nice to walk into an office and have everyone greet you and ask how you are after you see the Dr. Such a great atmosphere!

Dr. Shuba & Alicia were great! They explained everything extremely well. Alicia helped me pick out frames outside of my comfort zone and I love them! I will definitely be returning.

My husband and I stopped in because the arms of his glasses were breaking. When we found out they had the same frames, we worked with Aly who was willing to give us a really good discount on buying the frames "off the rack. " She switched out the lenses, cleaned them up, and everything was good as new! Not only was Aly extremely helpful, she had a wonderful personality and joked with us. What a wonderful experience!

My visits are always good but Alicia makes them GREAT. She knows exactly what type of frames I like and I look forward to our visits. Today I met with Dr. Patterson and he was very detailed. Definitely will return and refer friends!

I always have a great experience when getting new glasses. Everyone is very friendly. Dr. Shuba always answers all of my questions and I learn something new at every appointment. Alicia always knows which frame would work best for me before I even have a chance to look, and she’s always right. This is the best place to go for new glasses.

I had to rush and get an eye exam and glasses in order to get my new license. The team at Visionworks expedited the entire process to get me in and out with glasses in under a day! Great experience!

I love the service and the atmosphere at Visionworks- Downtown Pittsburgh! Alicia is a wonderful Optician that will help you pick out your glasses and give them the works! She knew I was worried about my glasses being narrow and went above and beyond to help me find the perfect two pair To top off this great service Dr. Patterson is the best Optometrist! He not only explains what going on with your eyes he informed me of a condition that I was unaware of and fixed the issue with in a blink of an eye! I promise you will not be disappointed working with the crew down at Visionworks- Downtown Pittsburgh! I know I’ll be back next year and years to come! Thanks again Alicia and Dr. Patterson!
