5They put my bill into collections even though my insurance paid them in full.
Had a car accident about halfway between Lansdale Hospital and Abington Hospital campuses. The police called this service to take me to the hospital since I was badly hurt and my car totaled. They ask me since I was somewhat lunatic which hospital and I yelled Abington on Old York Rd.because 1. I live near there and 2. All of my doctors are there and they have my medical history from prior ER visits and services. They took me to Lansdale Hospital stating it was closer. Actually Abington was 6/10th of a mile closer when I finally looked it up on mapquest, maps and waze map apps. They were acting as a service for the muncipality and I received an almost $1000 bill for 3 miles of transport and for them to put a board under my arm that wasn't even taped down. The ride was only 2.3 miles, I guess they rounded up. (sigh) No ma'am next time I will call an Uber or Lyft to take me to MY hospital.
These dudes turned on their lights and sirens at Cowpath and line st. And then pulled into the dunkin donuts at the top of the hill and hit up the drive thru. “Big Emergency”
Very abrupt and rude. The two EMT's that came to our house should definitely not be working with people, let alone sick people.
When at my house, VMSC ask for my wife's purse, then routed through her purse while on the way to the hospital. They used her insurance card to illegally bill for services. VMSC billed my wife's insurance, and was paid. Unfortunately, that was not enough, so they demanded more money from us. We were surprised, since (in the Commonwealth of PA) EMS is not permitted to bill for services rendered, when operating as EMS provider for the municipality. I have provided VMSC personnel with the legislation (provided by Chief of Staff, State Representative Todd Steven's office), but VMSC's billing office said they did not have to abide by the legislation. I called the local VMSC office.where I was met with rude personnel, who constantly hung up on me. VMSC has filed derogatory credit against my wife, and is in the process of taking her to collections. I have since filed complaints with USPS and PA Attorney General's office for false bills. PA Insurance Commission for fraud (illegally billing), and notified the local municipality of the illegal actions of the EMS department. I notified the municipality's Board of Supervisors, as well as our local senior citizen community.
