Volume Hair Studio, Philadelphia PA

I went in for a balayage and long curtain bangs that blend into face framing pieces. I had pictures for both, and I didn’t get what I asked for at all. I got blonde highlights, that weren’t even and different colors, and my bangs look like they were basically just chopped off without much thought. I had a good experience hospitality wise, but in terms of how I wanted my hair, it wasn’t at all what I asked for. Unfortunately won’t be going back.

I needed an up-do for a Sunday afternoon event and made an appointment at Volume. The girl who did the up-do did not take the photo I showed her into consideration at all. She simply bobby pinned a black sponge to the back of my head and then pinned hair over it. The whole appointment was over in less than 15 minutes. I have light blonde hair and the sponge was clearly visible. The up-do looked so terrible that I had to take it out and re-style my hair myself.

Me and my friend went for their mini keratin treatment last week. The hair looks good just after the treatment. They told that it will last about a month. But just after one wash (2 days after the treatment) our hair goes back to normal and frizzy. We followed every advice they gave to take care of the treated hair. But it's a total waste of money and time. Not recommend at all

I visited VHS a few weeks ago. My sisters wedding was coming up, so I wanted to get single process/partial highlight. I booked with Katelyn and that was a huge mistake! My head was stained with the permanent dye which actually did NOT come off with soap and water that night as instructed by Katelyn. Also the highlights she did was exactly what i told her i did not want when i sat in the chair (when i showed her pictures of mushroom brown she said that’s no problem, she’s done it so many times) I feel like i wasted my time and $250, and looked like i was wearing a wig with all the permanent dye on my head.

4 days later I got my hair styled and makeup done for the wedding and the stylists were mortified! They said i should definitely write a review.

Katelyn could tell I was uneasy leaving the salon, but brushed it off and said sorry she has another client. I believe the store owner was in the next chair and she didn’t say anything either!

Would not recommend.

I have been going to Volume Hair Studio since it began 10 years ago - and to Devon for even longer.

Devon is the best in every way - professionally and personally.
I wouldn't even consider going to another salon.

I've been coming to Volume Hair Studios now for several years and the quality of the work they do is nothing but top notch. Lauren is a true artist and one I can trust to tell her to use her judgement. Not everyone can cut short hairstyles and she rocks it every single time. Leaving after a fresh cut and color makes me feel like a brand new person.

You know when you need someone to save your hair? I went here for that and it's going to take some work with all the years of processing I've done to it, but I left SUPER happy with our first session. My ends have been breaking off for months and Devon gave me a really awesome cut without having to affect how the length looks, and Rachael had some cool ideas for what I can do when I'm ready to start coloring again. Definitely going back - I think I finally found my salon!

Great salon with great services. I had been searching for a place I loved in Philadelphia for 10 months and I finally feel home. Stephanie crushes the haircut for my short hair and Natasha did amazing red color.

I can't say enough nice things about this salon and their staff. It's a warm and comfortable space, the stylists are professional and excellent at what they do. My stylist Stephanie is highly skilled, talented, creative and has a focused attention to detail. Her goal is to provide services that make the client happy and satisfied. Rachel provides beautiful and rich color. You can't ask for more than this salon and the staff provide. Make an appointment!

Rachel Martin did my hair and executed exactly what I had in mind, which never happens. I was beyond impressed, she was kind and funny as was everyone in the salon and it was a lovely experience for sitting in a chair for hours with chemicals filling your nose. She is magical.

I am so thankful to have found Kim Taglienti. I have naturally curly hair and often change it up between curly and straight. It is very hard to find a stylist that can cut curly hair. She took the time to learn how I like to wear my hair so she could give me a haircut that fit my lifestyle. She cut my layers and ends so they aligned while straight but weren’t too bulky when I wear it curly. She also makes great recommendations for products to combat my frizz. I won’t go to anyone else! Devon, Tasha and the crew at Volume are my favorite place to be on a Saturday morning. I love hanging out, chatting and getting my hair done. Natasha (Tasha) does a simply phenomenal job and really acts as a consultant to get you to the hair not only you wish to have but what works best for you!

Kim Taglienti is simply the best:) If you are looking for a new stylist in the city you have to go to Kim at Volume Studio. The studio is just the cutest and it doesn't get better than Kim. I have been going to Kim for almost 10 years and I can't say enough positive things about her. I have very thin blonde hair and she does such a good job coloring and cutting. Thanks Mina! This my all time favorite spot thanks to Mina! I've been to many different hair salons but I was never really satisfied, until I came here! Customer service is great, and most importantly Mina knows what's trending and will make sure you will walk out the door looking fabulous! If your looking for a hair stylist who's trustworthy and knows what's hot, ask for Mina!

The new location is great! Very spacious and awesome atmosphere. I highly recommend Katie. I have wavy hair that is tough to manage and I have the best hair days after a recent cut with her. She really knows what she is doing, highly recommend booking with her!
