V's Barbershop - Old City Philadelphia

Brennen deserves 6 stars. He literally killed it on cleaning up my beard, face, paying close attention to the style I came in with and even leveling it up before I left. He made me feel so chill and welcome in a new city and barbershop. I'll absolutely be back.

I’ll start by saying i have been here twice and it’s not for me; pros/cons below.

Pros: prices are great. Scheduling online is so easy and there are a TON of time slots. Barbers are all super chill (although the two i had were a little weird conversationally but I’ll chalk that up to having only met them both once). The shop is nice and clean. Never had a wait time. Good fading skills.

Cons: The barbers I had cut my hair in a way that reminded me of how barbers would cut my hair as a kid, quick and without precision. HEAVILY favor clippers over scissors (the guy picked up scissors once today during my cut) so getting something specific or custom to your hair style is probably a no go.

Final verdict: this place is great for a guy with run of the mill hair and cut preference. However, if you are looking for a clean clipper cut or have anything other than pin straight/short hair I’d skip. The guys i had are nice but they need some experience to correctly cut anything that they can’t just buzz.

Brennen was extremely professional and gave a great haircut and excellent beard trim. His skills with the straight razor are impressive!

It was my first time going to Vs Barbershop and I went there on a "recovery mission"from a bad haircut. Unfortunately the bad haircut was from my lady who is going to cosmetology school and I allowed myself to be her first client although it was more like being a test Dummy. So I walked in to Vs Barbershop and explained my situation to their very pretty Barber by the name of Madison she then referred to Brennen. He said that he was up for the Challenge offered me a cold beverage and told me to sit back and relax. I can tell he loves what he does, he took a bad haircut and worked magic. When he was done I walked out ready for the new year as well as my birthday on the following day. "Big ups to Brennen"my new Barber and Vs Barbershop. I found my Home.

I’ve went to this barbershop twice. The first time was absolutely amazing, exactly what i had in mind was presented to me on my head. The second time however, was a disaster. I asked for a mid taper with texture on the top. I end up with a boosie fade. Maybe it was fluke, but it was bad enough for me to not come again.

Today was my first time at V’s barber shop and I must say, it was a great experience. My barber was Mike. He was attentive and listened to what I asked him to do. He did a great job. Mike is my new barber!

Brennen is the only barber I will go to. There is no one in Philly with more talent, and I have already recommended my buddies to get a reservation. Couldn’t ask for a better barber in any capacity.

Mike, my barber for today, was excellent! Offered a nice cold beverage as soon as I walked in and went above and beyond in making sure I was happy with my haircut. Thank you definitely will be coming back next time I need a cut.

Came in with hair down to my shoulders and asked for a trim. I left with almost a fade, lost a year of growth. Dude completely ignored what I asked for and just did what he wanted to.it wasn’t what I wanted at all. Brennen did a great job on short notice. Very attentive and asked plenty of times to make sure I was happy with the cut and it was exactly what I was looking for.

I'm very sad about my haircut. Very different from the picture I showed to do than what I got. The model in the picture had a good volume of hair on the sides of the top, while mine got cut too short. Overall too, very different from what I was expecting. I had high expectations, even though the barber was very respectful and friendly which I appreciate.

Marley was super great, fast, and I loved the cut! Will definitely be going back for another visit. Thanks y'all!
