Washington Crossing Bridge reviews
6It would be helpful if they used the traffic lights on the bridge to direct traffic better. Even if it just detects backed up traffic on 29. Many times there was a jam there.
This bridge is incredibly narrow to be considered two lane. I have a smaller car but there always seem to be large trucks or vans crossing in the opposite direction with their wheels passing into my lane. There are traffic lights on both ends but they don't seem to be used. Utilizing them to make the bridge one lane would avoid a lot of headaches. I will drive out of my way to avoid this bridge.
The weight limit is 3 tons. It's a fun trip. Bring a small car. (A Suburban is 3 tons without passengers.)
A Very old historical bridge.
Love to hike the PA/NJ Delaware River Loop from Lower Makefield/Scudder Falls Bridge to Washington Crossing Bridge and enjoy the views from the bridges. But a lot of people are scared to drive pass the narrow bridge. Many drivers have to flip down the rear mirrors when driving across the bridge.
Definitely narrow, definitely tight, but no toll to cross state lines. I love driving and judge my car very well, so I was excited to squeeze my Buick across this bridge. Also, amazing views from the bridge. Not for the faint of heart or anyone who can't judge their vehicle.
Very convenient bridge for when you are cycling along the river and need to cross. It is old and narrow, but better than nothing. I use it for commuting everyday too. Bridge attendants from DRJTBC are nice and friendly.
