Washington Crossing Inn reviews
17Just had my daughters bridal shower. Washington Crossings Inn did a terrific job from start to finish, food and staff amazing! Really incredible!
This restaurant is part of a large corporation that has been buying up several of the charming restaurants in the area. The issue for us is that they are charging a 3.5% surcharge for the use of a credit card! This is galling to say the least. They cite " rising costs". Well, credit card fees have ALWAYS been built into the pricing of restaurant meals. This is nothing more than a way to rip off their consumers by charging 3.5% for using a credit card. In addition I used a GIFT card and was still charged the " Processing fee as they call it! Unacceptable. They also charged PA 6% sales tax on the " Processing fee". The PA Attorney General needs to take a look at this. It seems most if not all of their restaurants are charging the fee which is already printed on the bill as a " Processing Fee" which they say they will remove if you pay cash. Shady practice in my book, we will be frequenting local restaurants who do not charge this fee. Vote with your wallet.
The garlic bread was delicious they took it to the next level, we sat outside and the lighting and live music was great. The indoor had nice historical decor. The seating staff and servers were all friendly. Unfortunately our bar server Greg did not make us feel welcomed. He took long to acknowledge us, while he chatted, cleared checks and poured refills, I said a friendly hello it was not received. He would leave abruptly during our ordering or requests mid sentence. He did just enough to service us without being considered overtly bias. Which is why did decided against getting dinner there and stuck with apps.
Beautiful gardens. Excellent service. Food too precious for my taste. Garden still delightful.
Selections were kinda off for a hot summer day. I have never seen a thick layer of cheese on crab bisque. Very off- putting. They called it " lump " crab bisque. The only lump was that awful cheese. My sandwich was very good though. Tuna Tartare was in too large pieces to be called tartare although it was fresh and delicious. The avocado with it was in huge pieces.
Everything here was very nice. Beautiful decor, very friendly staff. We didn't wait long at all for service or our food. The food was delicious! I would highly recommend!
A great place to gather, whether for a hearty indoor meal or to enjoy a causal, relaxed and fun atmosphere outside with friends. The bar tenders are great and the gastro bar menu is more than typical bar fare.much more. Try a Sunday afternoon on the patio with live music from local talent. Always a good time at the W. X. I.
WONDERFUL venue, WONDERFUL food, and the staff (all of them) were friendly, competent, and responsive. Highly recommend.
Absolutely beautiful place. But that's where the experience ends. Service was very slow even though not crowded at all. Twice waiter brought steaks to customers, (my self and table next to me) and had to be asked for steak knife. Appetizer was very greasy. Ordered medium rare filet, was medium well. Side dishes were awful. Potatoes were tasteless and rubbery. Not sure why, but there was a huge pile of mushrooms as a side. Plain, unseasonably mushrooms. Very disappointed. Not what I expected and not at all worth the price.
I ordered the stuffed lobster tail. I asked that the broccoli rob be substituted with a baked potato and extra butter be brought for the potato. I be ws servered the smallest lobster tail I have ever seen. Could not have been more than 3 oz stuffing included. And a tiny baked potato and the broccoli rob was on the plate. The servers did not understand English. There was no melted butter for the lobster, my date had a salad with a side of crab cake. The crab cake was mush. No lump crab anywhere in that. And my bill was $101+ a $21. Tip. Highly not recommended.
Had my wedding reception there 26 years ago and now I'm getting divorced. Coincidence? I don't think so.
I’m in the restaurant industry so I’m pretty critical… this place blew my mind tonight. Every aspect of the experience was top notch, especially the atmosphere. The food and cocktails are more than worth the price. Certainly recommend sitting outside and getting the chicken schnitzel. Whole staff was friendly. I’m gonna put it in my top 3 in the “tri-town region” of yardley, Newtown, and Washington crossing. 11/10.
Food was good, furnishings were excellent, service needs improvement. Server did not refresh our beverages, did not follow up during our meal. But, nice place and fair price
Fantastic lunch on the outside patio. Started with oysters and the shrimp cocktail, then the Shaved Prime rib sandwich and a salmon BLT. Killer lunch.
Excellent fine dining establishment. Food was prepared very well and had tremendous flavors. Very nice setting for dinner and quite the happy hour. Also a great destination place for a wedding.
Lunch and Dinner are fantastic options. My review is based solely on the food served at the events I have attended. I recently (within the last 12 months) have have 2 work dinners and 1 family dinner here and the food all 3 times times was bad. I'm talking overcooked steaks (well done, when requested medium rare), a salmon en croute which tasted foul (inedible), and green beans that could have been microwaved in a plastic bag (still undercooked). The hors d'oeurves and dessert were good, but the staff in charge of cooking for events need a crash course in serving mass portions with good standards
Of all the places i have eaten, this place was small with big food was soooo good. My wife and sister and i I hihghly recomend the crab bisque (the bomb) and the salmon blt, but the bisque though.silky, creamy, smooth, with the right amount of cheese. And the service was top notch Julio our waiter was the best, this guy was so patient with us and recomendations all in all a reat place to eat
