Wayside Inn, Shamokin PA

Never had a bad experience at The Wayside. It's a must-stop-by for our visits to the coal region.

I typically have some sort of chicken when I visit the Wayside, this time around I got a shrimp flat bread and it was delicious! For many reasons our family loves the Wayside. My kids are super fans of their chicken tenders and hate any other kind. We even take them with us on vacation. Cheers!

Camp near by, stopped in for the first time. Got a burger (well done) and frys! Came out bloody, didn't know until a couple bites. Waited 18 min. Made me a new one, waited another 15 min (no frys) came out with chips. Charged me full price! Waitress talks to much to customers instead of tending entire bar. Never going back!

Google hours states open till 10. Facebook on open till 9. We called at 8: 10pm, to ensure food was still being served, if not we would order take out or we would go somewhere else. After we called, everything seemed fine to come and be served. Ordered food. By the demeanor of the staff, they were already irritated. Entire food order was messed up. Every visit is different, such as servers. I will never return. The cook is arrogant and horrible at his job. Food sucked. Don’t recommend this place at night.

Service was excellent! Very friendly hostess, servers, everyone! Really enjoyed our visit here and will be back.

The chicken was tender but bland
The ribs were cooked to long and got a bit hard and dry
Brisket was tough
The beans tasted about what you would get out of a pan

Overall the meat was just not smoked well. Other then chicken and pork it wasn't tender and it did not have much or any smoke taste.
I will stick to the sandwiches and other items.

Adorable family orientated place. I had a Great time. Even won a gift card. 1st time going there. Made friends. Despite being from Brooklyn welcomed me with open arms. Wow. It was a fundraiser chili tasting event for a. Football team.

Had our 50th Anniversary Dinner here. Karen and her staff out did our expectations. A good time was had by all.

We attended a Christmas party here and the meal was a Turkey dinner served family style. The setting was very tastefully decorated, the food was great, and the service excellent. Can't wait to try the dining room since we were in the banquet room. Two thumbs up!
