I was in a tough spot, juggling an addiction with family life and work and not really sure what to do about it. I had been using suboxone off the street for years to manage my opioid addiction and the stress of my wife not knowing, worrying about drug testing at my job and trying to find money to ensure I would always have the medicine was wearing me out. I was nervous to contact a doctor because I hadnt used opiates in over five years, and thought there was no chance they would take someone who has been self treating for all that time. The staff at WellSpan Phil haven edgar square was not only very understanding they got me in just a few days after I called. We discussed my situation and all of my past drug use. I feel as if I have a second chance in life and I would highly recommend anyone struggling with an addiction to contact WellSpan Philhaven. I have been in many treatment programs over the past 12-15 years and this one is by far the best! Finally doctors and nurses who understand some people need help but also have a life outside of treatment!

If you are considering therapy, please take the time to read my long (lol) review.

I wanted to give a follow up review. (February 2021) I sincerely feel bad for those that had a bad and unsuccessful experience.

My therapy with Christina Bowman-Morrison, LPC, ended two years ago and I am doing and have been doing very well!

She worked really hard to guide me to a healthier and more realistic view of my life. In the very beginning of my therapy I was in extreme emotional distress. While I was in treatment with Christina I felt genuinely cared for, not that she was simply there to get a paycheck.

Along with the correct “cocktail“ of medication, (be patient, because this may take up to a year or two to achieve) I worked VERY HARD on myself, so Christina and I made a great team.
At the end of therapy I realized my subjective thinking, before I began therapy, was all askew when I thought it was all an objective reality.
I had an amazing, life changing experience!

Please know that if you want to be successful in therapy, you will need to work extremely hard. The therapist is there to guide you but you need to be open to the help. If you aren’t willing to put in the time and emotional “blood, sweat and tears, ” your therapy will most likely be unsuccessful. Challenging your own thinking will be required.

I went into therapy with a very open mind and attitude. I wanted the help. How I was living my life (Which included extremely unhealthy behaviors due to my askew view of myself) clearly wasn’t working and that’s why I went into therapy. Given that I went into it with an open mind as well as being completely honest about things going on in my mind and in my life, I got the help I needed.

I truly believe it’s a lifelong change that I was able to achieve. Along with my hard work, Christina helped me to literally change my life for the better! I am so grateful for having had Christina as my therapist and I am happy in life now. I am also surrounded by much love.

* If you are looking for a psychiatrist, I recommend my psychiatrist, Dr. Bredow. As was my experience with Christina, I truly feel genuinely cared for by Dr. Bredow and not that he’s just there for a paycheck.

He takes the time to really listen to you. He makes eye contact and does not interrupt you while you are talking. When I am with him I feel “heard. ” (he will work for you to find the right medication for you).

Although the secretaries are wonderful, the very few psychiatrists, both women in Lebanon, are rude and uncaring and do not even try to understand how bad my anxiety is. They are pompous and treat you like, “I am destined for childbirth. What’s your problem? ” Just like all women doctors. ”Nothing is worse than childbirth, ” they think. Well, at least you know childbirth will end. My anxiety doesn’t end after however many hours. My husband has dementia and can’t be left alone, yet “Dr. ” Kathleen Elnaggar expects me to drive 45 minutes each way at least twice a week for some therapy. Since I told her I cannot leave my husband alone, she refused to give me medication for my anxiety. Unfortunately for me, Philhaven is the only place close to me. I’m going to have to find someone else for my anxiety due to my husband’s dementia. They don’t even try to help. And don’t call on a Friday afternoon. They are all gone except for the secretaries. STAY AWAY from Philhaven if possible! Less than one star review.
