Westy Bar & Grill reviews
18Placed and order through Postmates, got charged $56 and had no idea apparently they stopped doing those pick up services? So my poor delivery guy from Postmates sounded like he wasn’t understanding so he gave the phone to a worker there and she asked me what I ordered. I told her exactly what it was and she said she didn’t see the order and i said that’s weird because i ordered through the app and i got charged? So the girl said “I’m gonna give the phone to my manager”, and he asked me the same thing and said “i don’t see it here in the computer and this is why we don’t take orders through the apps anymore! No DoorDash or grubhub whatever it is! Ok? ” At this point he was yelling at me over the phone so i just said fine and hung up. Not sure why he was yelling at me but they need to work on their customer service
Buyer was over cooked my wife didn't get the right food when I talk to the owner all she did was give a 5 dollar gift card.i will not return.
It is no wonder this place is full on a Wednesday night The food is great, the staff works hard and friendly, and management makes sure your experience is top notch. We had a problem with Uber eats, but these great people made a bad situation one of the best for us by just displaying great customer service. Go here. Eat and drink here. A great restaurant and bar.
Food took too long. It was not that good, not bad but nothing special. Wings were tough, veggies with the wings were sad. Service was not good. Our waitress was MIA. Not a picky person. This is the only bad review I have ever left.
Comfortable atmosphere with table and bar seating fit for friends and family. Daily food specials chalked on the board backed by a well stocked bar, decent bottled beer selection, and select tap list. Plenty of parking available with a bit of political alignments made clear.
Sign clearly shows contempt for health of the public. Guessing they might pick and choose other health codes to follow or not follow in the kitchen. Hard pass.
PS Wearing a mask or social distancing isn't worn because of fear. It's done in an effort to limit the spread of a virus overwhelming the system. Literally killing the most endangered. Omicron seems to be worse. Hope you reconsider your misguided attempt at signifying your love of country.
Excellent service, excellent food served hot and did not disappoint. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Oh yeah, food is not over priced. We highly recommend, we will be back.
The Westy is a cute hometown bar and restaurant. We have never had to wait to get a table even on a busier night. Plenty of appetizers to choose from and a large variety of wing sauces to pick from. Their sandwich are delicious, many different types to choose from. They also have dinners to choose from. Location is in a good location, not far off major highway and many other frequented businesses.
The food was good. Our server wasn't seen, after she got the order, until it was timetopay. Other ppl took care of us. Usually the Westy does better
Food was great, atmosphere was laid back. Leave your feelings at the door. We loved the place. Will definitely go back every time we're in the area.
They're always busy, which means the food is good. The waitstaff does a good job, they are unfortunately understaffed as it does take them a bit to get back to you sometimes.
This was my 3rd BAD wing trip this fall. The wings weren't too crispy, they were WAY overdone. You couldn't bite thru some. Westy went from best wings in Berks County to one of the worst. I always stopped in after Cabelas, no reason to anymore
Good food. However the drunk trashy people leaving need to shut their mouths and not make comments at people driving out of the lot who are just picking up their dinner and not trying to hit any of these idiots.
This was our first time at this bar & grill. It was very crowded on a Saturday night but the table service was excellent. They had a very nice menu and everything that we ordered was delicious. We had appetizers, soups, entrees, drinks, coffee, desserts and shots. We spent a lot of money and we were shocked to see that our original bill had one amount and our charge bill had a higher amount. Since they did not give us the original bill back, we asked for it. They had to reprint it for some reason. But at the bottom of the reprint there was a note that said "all non-cash payments are subject to a credit card processing fee. " We do not remember seeing this note on the original bill. Besides the 18% tip that they automatically added to our bill, we had to pay a credit card processing fee of $11.11. We have been to many restaurants before and we always pay by credit card. Not once EVER did we have to pay a credit card processing fee. We felt that since they accepted credit cards at their restaurant, then it is THEIR cost of doing business to pay any processing fees! After all, we spent almost $300.00 there that evening!
Great location for parties, meetings or just a really decent meal and drinks! Excellent community gathering location. Locally owned and operated. Stop by and enjoy Americana at its finest!
Very good! They have all your favorite appetizer dishes, fried pickles, Sweet potato fries, excellent potato skins (that are not skins, but crispy sliced potatoes.you wont miss what's missing)
Food was moderately good, but potato skins tasted slightly of fish oil. Service was great. Signs at the entrance express their disdain for covid precautions. I understand the frustration, but it seemed inappropriate.
While laying over at the Allentown KOA from hurricane Henri headed to Boston, we had lunch at Westy’s Bar & Grill. I am big on researching places by their reviews on TripAdvisor and Google. I read where it was mentioned their food was going downhill and someone upset about the surcharge, decided to try it anyway due to the majority of good reviews and I have to agree. My husband got the Rueben sandwich and an IPA, I got the Buffalo chicken wrap, sweet potato fries and a Miller light. We totally enjoyed our food, nice sized portions had to take half with us. We arrived before noon and it was already full, but we were still able to be seated immediately. There is a surcharge if using credit card, but there is a huge sign on the door and it is noted on your receipt so we were expecting it and would have paid cash, but the extra charge was only about $1.49, wasn’t anything to keep us from returning, which we would do if ever in the area again.
