Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts reviews
8Man, how the mighty have fallen. Covid lockdowns ruined this place. It's empty, everything is old, gift shop is gone, sad to say I'll probably never go back there.
I grew up coming here as a kid and was excited to bring my son to experience it now. There are very few science things to do and the ones there are broken and run down. Highly disappointed and what a waste of money.
The website is confusing and littered with too many landing pages. Could reduce the various pages to provide an efficient way for navigating what’s there is to do there.
Great center! Viewing shows from all seats is excellent. The sound quality is great. Will return for more shows. Easy parking and a short walk to the theater.
Harsco Science center is a great spot for kids, plus theres a great kids playarea, an imax theatre & occasionally Plays & shows.
Admission to Harsco Science Center tickets are $10 per person (ages 3-6) ; $15 per person (ages 7-59) ; $13 per person (ages 65+). Children 2 and under are free. Members are also free but still need to reserve a ticket.
A ticket to the cinema may be purchased upon arrival to Whitaker Center and are $9.50 per adult; $8 per junior, military and senior.
Consider an annual membership if you can visit frequently (aprx $139/yr) Parking nearby.
We enjoy coming here for an IMAX, and the science center is pretty cool too. Kids always have fun
Very good acoustics. The spacing of the rows could be more generous, there is no room to straighten ones legs.
5/5 for the throwback showings of Jurassic Park and Back to the Future on the 4+ story high digital IMAX screen. We all loved the experience and presentation, and while I've seen those movies many times your theater made it feel like the first. Please do more "throwback" movies!
