Widow's Tavern And Grille reviews
17The food was very good and they were busy. Service was slow, but they had a new trainee with them also.

Nachos are incredibly delicious.drinks are made correctly.try it you will love this place as much as we do.
Thank you, Rob & Karen
We had a company dinner here last night. The owner and wait staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We loved the entire experience, especially hearing about the ghost!
Wonderful place for lunch or dinner any day of the week. Comfortable atmosphere, incredible food and friendly, down to earth staff! Highly recommend to everyone!
Over priced food. Stale bread, dry salty salmon, muzzarelle cheese the consistency of cottage cheese on a Capri salad with no Basel and very little balsamic. Won't be returning any time soon.
We here for lunch after Jacobsburg park. Very accommodating had my dog. Food was excellent and excellent as well.
The atmosphere is a warm pub like place. The Menye had several great sounding meals. I had the brisket with a baked potato. The brisket was moist and tender like it should be but didn’t have a lot of flavor but it came with a BBQ sauce in the side. My wife had the prime rib Queen cut The Queen cut was much larger than I expected, over a pound boneless. The only had medium well left. It was later in the evening. We would normally get medium rare but it was still excellent. She ordered with mashed potatoes which were just as good as the prime rib. The booth we sat I. Was a little small. At 6 ft 220 lbs I felt like I was squeezed too close to the table. We will definitely go back.
The food is always fantastic. We came here recently for my birthday and it was a hit. Their salmon in particular is stellar, especially with the mashed potatoes and asparagus. The only downside is that it's in Stockertown Otherwise, I'd probably come here more often. Also, I hear it's haunted, so if you're into that I highly recommend!
Was a fan until recently. Prices and quality are having a hard time here. $19 French dip and fries and couldn’t put together one half a sandwich out of all the frost bitten grizzle beef that was scrounged up to make a sandwich. A pickle that was left on the heat lamp that looked like broccoli rabe.
A salmon dish that was so bad you couldn’t get the old stale fish taste out of your mouth. Sadly this food wouldn’t pass a lunch line in elementary school. Struck out finally after many years of quality food and great atmosphere.
So glad I found this gem. Food was very good and the drinks were awesome. Great atmosphere, and the place is haunted. The owners son behind the bar was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
I have mixed feelings here. I will start with the food. We got huge portions and everybody was happy with their choice. I got a meatloaf sandwich and actually had to take some off the bread be ause it was too big to fit in my mouth. The downer to our visit was slow service. After I finished my first drink It sat there empty for probably more than 15 minutes before somebody at our table got up to go request a refill for me. We all felt abandoned by the waitstaff most of the time. Even after getting boxes for the leftovers and declining dessert I waited another 10 minutes or so before having to ask for the bill. I understand the difficulties of being understaffed but this one really bothered my normally mellow attitude. I would have no problem going back but I hope their service is better then. Edit, we went back and had a fine trip this time period excellent hot wings
Good enough. Another place I want to love but just can't. Food is inconsistent, sometimes great sometimes terrible (blackened chicken, one day a great dish a few weeks late i couldnt get past the 4th bite it was so over seasoned). Servers were ok but clearly very inexperienced. Cautiously optimistic they will get this fixed with time, will try again in a few months.
Pulled pork wasn't good. Chips were stale. Chicken Française tasted good but it wasn't pounded out and didn't have enough sauce. Rice pilaf was really bad. The glasses are too small, everyone needed 2-4 refills. Buffalo chicken soup was inedible. Bummed.
I found it to be expensive. I said I can't have any dairy I'll get very sick and I got dairy. I ate 2 bites and knew it. Idk who's fault but I was very sick. I had to ask for a new plate extra napkins. We will never be back
Passing through area my wife and Istopped in for dinner: she had salmon and I had RibEye Steak in butter sauce, homemade mashed potatoes and house salad all delicious; waitress and staff were very friendly; highly recommend
Wish I could say something different but our experience was not the best. Worst of all three of our party got sick from the food. The service was not great never even received more water. They did not get everyone's order correct which meant we did not eat together. Will not go back!
We had a party of 8, and they gave us a great table away from everyone else so we could enjoy ourselves, and we didn't have to worry about customers around us. The food was great and plentiful. I would recommend Widow's Taverns.
