We visited Pool Wildlife Sanctuary for a short walk through the woods. It's a convenient place to go for a taste of nature in our urbanizing community.
Despite pleasant temperatures, there was limited wildlife out this time (mid-day in mid-June). In the past, though, we've seen deer, foxes, birds, and butterflies, and in spring the flowers are beautiful.
The best thing is that even if you see no animals, the peaceful sounds of insects, the rustling of leaves, and the ripples of the creek make this shaded stroll so refreshing.
