Wilkes-Barre Golf Club reviews
16I was golfing at this fine establishment a week ago and I saw 2 kids (presumably on the maintenance staff) zooming around on machinery and messing around instead of working. The course is nice but this experience has really turned me off to this course. I don’t think I will golf here again
Love playing here
Price is affordable
The course needs work in place
But otherwise great people up there
I’m only giving it two stars because I’m there minimally once a week after work. We called up (2 man) to head there for 5: 30. We were told to just come on up because it’s “wide open”, so we go. We get there and are told AT THE DOOR that they’re not letting anyone out because 5oclock is the cutoff. Unreal, terrible customer service. Thanks for wasting 45 minutes of my time driving up and back.
The course was in decent shape. One green closed due to water damage. Short rough. The woman in the clubhouse was extremely friendly. I wish I had asked her name.
Course would've been better if they cut the grass shorter. I know we've had a lot of rain but the greens were painfully slow. It was also hard to tell fairway from rough on a lot of holes. Still an enjoyable round.
Superb nice place!friendly worker. Great experience over all! Would suggest to come here for everyone, i would totally come here again to learn more about golfing (I’m a amateur).
The course is a great layout. They obviously have financial difficulties. Things they can control like getting big rocks out of the bunkers, raking the bunkers and rolling the greens are neglected as well and that only makes the experience more disheartening.
What a shame! I hope the powers at the course look at the video from July 5,2021 at approximately 12: 20 pm. I came in and paid $28 senior rate, cash (a 20 & 10). Didn't get a reciept and was told after I played 9 that I owed for 9 more. I told them I already paid for 18 but they said no. I know what i paid but they refused to believe me. So, after getting quite upset, I left the course never to return. The woman that took my money claimed I only payed for 9. She is confused and wrong. Look at the video. I'm am wearing a black golf shirt and I am absolutely sure what i paid. After you see I'm correct, keep the money and put it towards some sand for the traps which they sorely need. Never coming back
The course is in terrible condition. The fairways have more dirt than grass and any grass that is left in the fairways is mostly dead. There is nothing in the sand traps but rocks and weeds, they are impossible to play out of. The staff are rude, unorganized, and unprofessional. The clubhouse is outdated and run down. The food they have for sale is soggy, cold, and overpriced. I 100% do not recommend golfing at this course.
Your average golf course. Nothing impressive about it, but their prices are good so it's a nice place to get a round in.
This used to be one of my favorite courses in the area. They have let the course go. Sure is a shame.
A really nice place to play golf. The clubhouse could be nicer but you can't beat the golf course
Great day of golf beautiful afternoon only problems were finding balls if you were in rough because of leaves, lesson is stay in fareway, course is in fine shape
Would recommend to play
Fairways and greens were in good shape except for the recent airation holes on the greens, sandtraps were ok but this golf course needs more maintenance and a golf ranger to keep moving along more often.
Excellent course. Fair rates. The course is up on a mountain. It's definitely worth a visit.
7-24-20 This is my first visit since early 2018 and I'm happy to see some love being put back into the course. Same designer as Mountain Laurel and that place is beautiful, pretty sure Muni can get there with more work.
Some of the traps were being edged (not all), grass was cut, greens and tee boxes were in great condition. Fairways had some drying but that's everywhere this year. Since last time I was there, newer carts and the old front 9 is now the back. I'm not sure of the logic behind that but my only guess is they got a truckload of scorecards in with the holes reversed.
Worth a round if you haven't been there for awhile.
I'll be back
