For the bad review by Heather Horner (no relation by the way) you should proof read before you submit your garbage. You said you left your car on private property, which is clearly stated on the sign when entering the grounds. If the OWNER seemed a little irate he has the right when finding a vehicle that is not registered to be there. If nobody answered your call, you probably didn’t have service, because every single time I’ve called no surprise they answer.
The owners of this campground work very hard to make this a relaxing no drama place on Private Property for visitors that have paid to be there and not just on a whim.
So if anyone deserves a bad review it is you!
If you have any kind of decency you would remove your review, apologize to the OWNER and chalk it up as a bad freaking day!

Won’t answer if you call. Called multiple times to schedule for next weekend. We’re in the area so we stopped down. (Website, Facebook etc states they’re ALWAYS Open) they’re not. No one was there and was told by another camper someone would be there later. Left our car and was going to come back and try when we were done tubing to said campsite. We changed our tubing route to the camp. Came back to find the “caretaker” irate and screaming. In front of children. Making accusations my father was drunk etc.
We were understanding of why he was upset with us but his behavior was not okay. If it was an issue we were there then he should’ve called the cops. So don’t step foot on the property or you’ll be accused of being drunk etc. Call ahead, we tried multiple times with no luck. So good luck. After the treatment towards us and my ill father. We will no longer be booking or coming again. They don’t want anyone on the property unless you paid. If you didn’t pay it is trespassing so if you can’t reach them by phone you’re sol. We assumed it wouldn’t be an issue seeing how friendly the people we meet last year were. Our mistake. Don’t be us.
I will add we brought family friends with us as well to book two separate cabins, even if it wasn’t the following weekend we were set on booking when it was available and excited to book with cash in hand. We were going to pay in full today as well for our up coming stay. Talked the camp up whole way there, owners as well. Figured we would stop down and book in person since we could not reach them by phone. We were accused of lying about calling as well. We do not email but we’re very disappointed with the behavior of the man we meet today. A simple you can’t do that would’ve been suffice. We may have still booked cabins but we apologized profusely but we’re still treated like criminals and had assumptions made of us. My father the worst of all was accused of being drunk among other things when he has bladder and heart issues. He was upset the rest of our time at the river because of this encounter causing the health issues he does have to flare up today. Our children were also scared due to this encounter. My father was also told they would never book to him but he made our reservation in 2021. We loved the campground but sadly due to this experience we will not be returning ever.

Beautiful, well kept grounds - quiet & peaceful, right along water.though we went to Raystown for good swimming. I didn't have expectations but was so glad to be in a quiet space. Have already talked about returning some time. Thank you!

Awesome camp ground! Secluded and quiet with friendly owners. Nice bathrooms with showers! They also had cheap wood, ice and kayak rentals.

All the sites are right next to the river. The people running the campground were very nice. They even let us keep our camper there between stays. The bathrooms are very clean. Make sure to take drinking water with you, as there is none available.

The place is amazing! Very peaceful and relaxing. The view of the river is phenomenal.
I met the owner and she was very nice. They had everything ready by the time I got there. I would highly recommend going there. Even though its about 4 hours drive to get there.it was well worth it!

Reached out - via text! - on a Wednesday for weekend availability for a cabin, and was pleased to hear they were available.

I arrived to the area in the night, and it was a little nerve-wracking on the gravel road in the dark, but not a "I need to turn around" situation.

But arriving in the dark, I woke up to the beautiful view over the river! We stayed in the Laurel Cabin, last cabin on the lane, and it was goregous. Saw an eagle, osprey, some comorants, some kingfishers, and heard owls at night.

Overall the campground was quiet. But was early in the season and still cold. So I'm sure it's busier later in the year.

If you come to fish, bring a heavier lure - most of the fish are on the other, deeper, side of the river.

It got down to about 30° on our nights, and the space heater in the cabin warmed the interior to about 50° - so pack extra layers & blankets in the event the weather calls for cold.

Food in the area - we ate at Jean Bonnet, Kountry Kettle: I recommend them both!

Absolutely can't wait to stay again, bring the kayaks, and find a place to hike!

We're staying in the Oak Cabin this weekend. It was a last minute decision to come out here like 10 days ago. I'll say that it's definitely one of my best last minute plans. Clean, quiet, and inexpensive. My group and I will definitely be back in the future!
The owners have stopped by twice and asked how everything was. They explained how everything worked and made sure we were enjoying the weekend.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Have been going here for 3 years going on year 4 and never had a problem with the old owners. Was always a nice and quiet place. The new owners when we got there were friendly. We got there on a Friday and was told that they were having a party that Saturday at the Pavilion. The party started around 12 in the afternoon and ended around 930ish at night so we were unable to have a Fire that night because it was loud. Sunday through Wednesday was fine and we had no problem. But our last night there they rented out the Pavilion to 20 people plus had other cabins rented out And had tents between another cabin and the bathroom. When we went out the people were loud and obnoxious and we’re letting their kids run around and good thing we didn’t have a fire going on because the kids were running into our fire pit. Also they had their tent right next to our fire pit
So we couldn’t even have a fire on our last night there we Called the owners to say something and all they did was tell them to move the tent. But to make matters worse when the owner came to tell them to move their tent the owner pointed over to us and said we complained so every time we came out the group was staring at us. As we were coming in with our dinner since we couldn’t cook anything on the fire pit the owner Donnie stopped us and was really arrogant towards us. We will not be coming back because they are basically only worried about making money and aren’t really worried about their customers experiences. Also with COVID going on I think they had way to many people there and all they had were 5 bathrooms. 2 men’s, 2 women’s and 1 family bathroom.

I stayed at one of the cabins on the campground a little over a month. The new owners for 2020, Donnie and Johnna, were great hosts and very helpful! The campground itself was very clean and full of wildlife. The river makes for a good time floating with the family or just fishing. Cabins have electric, there is a bathouse with hot showers/ toilets and theres plenty of firewood to buy.
