Yellow House Hotel reviews
16Great food. Service is slow. Nice atmosphere. Air conditioning wasn't cool. Felt hot inside. Best to have reservations.
Had a wonderful event at the hotel. The staff was great and the food was delicious. It's a beautiful building. Thank you Yellow House staff!
Seriously, Fine dining? What a joke! Host was rude, waitress was a red hot mess!
Food, seriously? Not sure the attraction, & I grew up in this area.
Make an omelette at home!
Great visual and historical atmosphere. Food was fantastic. Couldn't be better. Service was "over the top" great. Best brunch ever.
My wife and I have lived in the area for many years but have never been to the Yellow House. We took her parents here for their 25th anniversary and weren't expecting much. Since Covid so many of these privately owned old hotel/restaurants have diminished in their quality while upping their prices. Not here. Prices were very reasonable and our waiter, Brian, was attentive and hospitable. Food was excellent. BBQ Ribs, French Onion Soup, Shrimp Bisque, Filet, Golden Mashed Potatoes, Scallops over Risotto, dinner salads and even the warm rolls were superb. Service was amazing for how busy they were. They were constantly collecting plates and filling drinks. No complaints and we had a wonderful experience.
Very good food and atmosphere I would recommend the Yellow House Hotel to anyone celebrating something special or family dinners I came here for a family Easter dinner and was sat in a square table which made it easy for me to talk to everyone in my family without struggling. I got the seafood pasta and it was perfectly cooked with shrimp and lobster I would definitely come to Yellow house again for a special occasion and recommend anyone who is looking for an upscale nice restaurant to look no further than Yellow House.
Very unique dinning experience, almost like going back in time with the history of the hotel and area. Staff is always professional and food never disappoints. Weekends it is best to arrive early or make a reservation. One of my favorite restaurants in the area.
Excellent food.
Super friendly wait staff.
Had the family there for Easter dinner and everyone raved about it afterward.
Can't, wait to go back!
Bar side is casual while the dining side is a bit more formal. Food is always good with interesting specials. Moderately priced. Definitely a must try!
Wonderful place. Great staff and great food. Everything was excellent. I’ve been here six years and this is the best place I’ve been to in Pennsylvania.
A truly unique, old school experience that I can’t wait to repeat the next time I’m in town.
If you’re interested in history at all (and even if you’re not), I’d recommend staying at Yellow House Hotel.
It’s got charm galore, a super friendly and personable staff, and beautiful rooms that make you feel like you’ve gone back in time (aside from the modern flat panel TV on the wall and hot running water, of course!).
We were so disappointed. Service was great, a beautiful place, but the food was so, so…reminded me of diner food. I expected better for the price and previous dining there was always wonderful.
Beautiful historic hotel/restaurant! I’ve eaten here many times and the food & waitstaff is always so good! But sometimes you may get a side dish that’s not so good. Usually a veggie side that’s not made so appetizing. (I recently got a side of honey carrots & Brussel sprouts- carrots were tasty BS’s not so. Soggy, no color & smelled)! It’s unfortunate because it takes away from the rest of the meal. Otherwise a wonderful & beautiful place to dine.
Food is great and the service was wonderful. I would highly recommend the French onion soup, its savory and delicious. I would recommend calling ahead as tables can be packed depending on the day, along with getting in early enough as parking isn't great.
Our reservation was at 5: 30pm entrees hit the table at 8: 03pm. Support staff was on point, pre bussing and filling water glasses. Everything else was meh at best. Won't be back. Pacing of our meal was wack- we looked around and saw our servers section continue to fill time and time again so I can't point the finger at her but other tables were lapping our experience! Other tables came and went. Half of our food came out great the rest was luke warm and under welming. I have the feeling that our experience or lack there of did not really matter.
Food is way over priced and I didn't think was good. The wait to get our meal was an hour and a half and the salads were brought out even before the kids were served. I can honestly say I will never eat here again. The waiter was nice and was trying because it looked like him and 1 other person were the only servers and the place was busy.
