York Buffet

HORRIBLE TREATMENT! Love their food and value. Have been going here for years and recommend to many friends. Called to see until time lunch was served until. Told 3: 30. Also, on website that dinner price starts at 3: 30. Got there at 3: 15 and asked to get lunch but was told it was dinner and we could no longer get lunch. I told the man that I had spoken to someone who said lunch was until 330 and we drove an hour to make it there on time. He said I must have called a different place even when I showed him my phone with calls made to their phone number. I said I spoke to a lady and he said impossible because he was only one answering the phone. I had THEIR number in my call list; he was gaslighting me. We said we wouldn’t eat any dinner items, only wanted lunch. We have done this before when arriving close to the start of dinner. I asked if he was the owner and he said yes, but later when I asked the name of the owner he said he wouldn’t give it to me. Then a customer got involved and was yelling at me and the host joined him. I was in tears. Never been treated so horribly before at a restaurant.

Food was subpar. Kind of dirty and the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. Not the worst place but certainly not the best.

Some of the food was stale and like the grarlic bread.and the service was ok but she was rushing us.and the food was not good in my opinion.never coming here again.not even 10 minutes in they gave us the bill.the food was also cold never coming here again.

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in York. Their buffet has a large selection and the food is always hot and tasty.

We were a good group of 23 people and they assigned us a room for everyone! Very good service! Great

Came here with my grandson for lunch yesterday (Sunday at noon). Most of the food was cold. Not warm but cold. First plate grandson got was slice of pizza & some salmon. He sits down and says it's cold. I check for myself and it is hard cold. Not warm at all. That was the theme for the whole meal. Green beans cold & hard. Some things were warm at best. I believe they're putting out cold leftover food thinking it will heat up in the trays but we were there an hour after they opened and what should be hot was still cold. We managed to eat from what was supposed to be cold (cocktail shrimp, salad, desserts). Also I kept getting a taste of something moldy which I eventually thought must be coming from the water (ice). My guess is they don't clean the ice machine & probably have black mold growing. Someone is going to get sick eating here. We will not be back.

The waitresses of the place create a heavy atmosphere with their hostility and hurry so that one pays and leaves the place. As soon as one takes the first plate they are already bringing the bill for me it was the last visit, I know many people who have not returned for the same reason one goes to spend a pleasant time with the family and ends up upset and uncomfortable

The service is terrible. The waiters want to go home so much that they clean the hall with a vacuum cleaner when the customers are still eating. I got up from the table to get dessert, and the waitress in glasses took away my plate of food, a glass of drink for which I paid. Horror. What can I say, this is a Chinese Buffet. Don't go here at all! Maybe the service will be better.

Really really good! Was there on Sunday morning with an advance order, not too late.after the service it gets fuller. (about 1: 00 p.m?), but it was pleasant, not overcrowded, no queues anywhere, huge selection of different dishes, super delicious and great value for money (22.70 USD, tax, tip, everything is already included.), endless soft drinks included, there is no alcohol because it is considered a family restaurant.

Food has really gone downhill. The rice was oily and meats we're too chewy. The best thing I had there were the French fries and a banana covered in red sauce. May be better off ordering from a take out restaurant.

The overall experience was good, but the woman stocking by the sushi bar started pounding on her cart when my 4-year-old wouldn't move out of her way fast enough. Not acceptable.

Food was good. Not as many choices as I was hoping. $20 a person. Kind of expensive for what’s available in my opinion.

As far as the food, most was bland and the chicken was so very chewy. The service was wonderful. The waitress was on top of our table needs. And the restaurant atmosphere was.falling apart, flaking paint, leaking toilets, fixtures falling apart.just left a gross feel to the place, and that was AFTER we started our meal!

If I could do a negative star I would!

Walked in and asked for a high chair for my little one and the waitress disappeared and started helping others so I had to go get my own high chair.

Then I asked for my water to be refilled and the waitress came back with a cup of warm water, no ice, obviously from a sink. After asking her again for another cold water, and with ice she simply brought back a cup of ice no water.

When checking out the front clerk basically said to bad, nothing he can do about it when told about our service there with the waitress.

It’s unfortunate it’s the only buffet in York bc we won’t be back for a very long time if ever!

Then that evening my daughter began throwing up, going on 5 times now. The only thing we can think of is she ate some of the cantaloupe there and it probably wasn’t good!

Walked in was asked how many, we said two, the guy didn’t even say hey come follow me so we asked the lady are we supposed to follow him she said yes. He stood there asked for our drinks and came back and gave us our drinks. 20 dollars per person! So we paid 40. Lo mein noodles tasted off, general tso was hard. No body was friendly at all. We walked up, lady said 40.00 dollars. And we paid and we were out. Will not be back. If you’re going to work with ppl maybe have a smile on ur face to make them feel welcomed, and be a little more communicative.

We try to go back, each time we are disappointed about something. The restrooms are not cared for, the Cleansliness around the tables is not done on a weekly basis, all of the glass in the restaurant should be cleaned on a daily basis, only some of the wait staff is attentive. We experienced on our last visit, our bill to arrive even before we were done our main dish, never even asked if we wanted a refill on our beverages. Very disappointing.
We usually travel to The Dragon Buffet on the Fruitville Pike in Lancaster, which is well worth the time and miles for the cost of dinner, varieties, and services we recive.
We Won't be returning for a long time to the York Buffet.

Not a bad place for lunch or dinner. Atmosphere is clean, and bustling. Workers make sure to be stocked on flatware and dishware. Hibachi is a nice touch. Servers believe they should be tipped for bringing you a drink.

Ate here for the first time. Food was really good. Especially liked the bacon wrapped shrimp and General tsou's chicken. Definitely will be back when I am up that way.

Good food and service but the check-out clerk was very rude. We've been going there for years and due to today's experience at the checkout we will most likely never return. As always I left a nice cash tip on the table and then at the check-out they automatically charged me a tip with only a small group of five people. When I told him that I already left a tip and asked him to take it off the bill he told me to go find the waitress and ask for it back myself! With that silly comment I can only guess that this happens regularly and they realize nobody is going to run around and look for the waitress and ask for the tip back! I told him in a nice way if you don't either take the tip off the bill or you go find the waitress and confirm, I will simply never return. He rudely told me that this is my problem and not his problem, so I paid the double tip. Plenty of good restaurants in York with friendly cashiers at the checkout, so so we certainly don't need to spend our money here - however I do wish them well!
