Youell's Oyster House, Allentown PA

Service staff was prompt and attentive. The calamari was out of this world. My entree was amazing-surf and turf - steak was tender lobster was sweet.
Simply awesome food. First time there, but certainly not the last!

Went for soft shell crabs mainly. Was I glad they had them. Delicious breaded over garlic cheese risotto, sautéed spinach and lump crabmeat. Did not expect the trimmings which was great.

Wife had a broiled seafood combo. Excellent!
Shrimp, scallops, haddock, lump crabmeat and vegetables.
Fresh hot rolls.
It’s been years since at Youells.
Ironically we live five minutes away from Marblehead chowder house. I had the crabs from them but not with the quality sides like Youells. Got an email from Marblehead about crabs, and I was going to go for that. Called first, didn’t have?
However we’re disappointed several times for quality and lack of ingredients, so it was so worth the drive to Youells. I the end it worked out for the best.
Definitely be back!

Great place. We made a same-day reservation on Sunday at 6 pm and we were seated immediately even though the place was jammed, so reservations actually mean something here!

The atmosphere is extremely casual meaning you would not feel out of place wearing a t-shirt and shorts if you wanted, although many people did at least have a collared shirt on. I like this aspect personally.

Of course food is pricy being a high-end seafood place, but extremely good. Everyone was happy with their food. I got the fried seafood combo which was perfectly cooked to a golden brown and not overdone. Father liked his broiled seafood and mother liked her seafood pasta dish. Salads also got some nice reviews.

One thing I want to point out is to ask the waitress if anything comes with your meal. The menu doesn't say anything about it, but potatoes and cooked vegetables were on the plate with a few of the orders.

The only thing I thought was not worth it was the truffle fries which just seemed like frozen fries with some parm on them. Nothing to write home about for $8.

Overall very recommended for special occasions (unless you are of the wealthy elite).

We sat at the bar and ordered our dinner and waited over 2 1/2 hrs.and still didn't get our food. The bartender was very rude and didn’t seem to care at all. We asked to speak to the manager and was told the manger was unable to speak to us because she was busy in the kitchen. We paid for our drinks and left. We will never come back here again. Worst experience ever….

My opinions might be a bit different than the rest but just being honest. Overall it wasn’t a bad experience. The drinks were decent, our appetizer was calamari and unfortunately it was cold and soggy. We had to wait 30-45 mins for two rolls. I ordered the seafood fettuccine and it wasn’t awful but nothing to write home about. The shrimp was definitely overdone however the scallops were good. My fiancé loved his surf n surf no complaints at all. Im not a big dessert person but got the brown butter upside down cake and loved it was the best part for me.my fiancé enjoyed his crème brûlée. I’m not someone that minds paying for an expensive meal, but I don’t think this place is worth the prices. Oh and our server Molly was very nice.

Known for its seafood but has an extensive, varied menu with excellent food for all. 6 kinds of fresh, high quality oysters nightly. Service is always friendly and spot-on. Prices are realistic. Atmosphere is local neighborhood vibe. Reservations are suggested as there is often no availability between 5-7. Upstairs area feels removed from the main dining area so it can work for small group events.

Really used to love this place but recently the food has been hit or miss. My last experience was the absolute worst. Our oysters came out in a pool of water, they were clearly sitting out for quite some time before being brought to the table. One of our steaks was completely raw. Normally when you send a steak back, the chef will prepare a new one right away. Not here, they tossed it back on the grill and when it came back it had this overly smokey charred grill taste. Will not be returning anytime soon.

Mix results. My food was good but my husband's.not so much. Service was ok but silverware wasn't clean. Overall not worth the extra $$$ that is required to come heree.

Very disappointed in my “specials” entree of soft shell crab over risotto with green beans. Mushy coating on the crab and everything soaked in butter. The beans were good. The rose was very good, our waitress was sweet and the service very efficient. The atmosphere is lovely. But my food…meh.

Great happy hour. Full menu offers a variety of food. The beet and goat cheese salad is delicious. Also highly recommend the seafood tower and the clams casino.

Classy place. Great food selections. Had the paella, seemed a little extra salty, but the seafood items were plentiful and perfect. Would order again!

First time here. Celebrated my father's 70th Birthday. Great service! Molly was sooo attentive. Great atmosphere. Food was phenomenal. Definitely coming back!

This place had come with recommendations from friends that had lived in the area—so that was already a good start. Warm/comfortable setting embedded within a neighborhood (!) as opposed to a busy Main Street or business district. Plenty of street parking. Beautiful park nesrby to walk if you’re a little early or a stroll after dining.
Wonderful attentive server. Since it is an “oyster house, ” you must have some oysters! Delicious! We ordered the pear arugula salad, salmon tartare and crab cakes. YUM Unfortunately, we didn’t have room for dessert. Wonderful meal! Thank you, Youell’s Oyster House!

It was very disappointing. The clams casino was sloppy and smelled fishy. The mussels, the sauce was watery and tasteless and half the mussels had no mussel in them
. The service was excellent

Took my wife here for her Birthday and what a Fantastic Choice! This Restaurant is Beyond words there is not enough Stars for a rating! This Restaurant is 100 out of 10 rating! Hands Down the best seafood restaurant I have ever been too. The Crab Bisque is amazing full of crab meat and with out a doubt the Best you will ever have! I also had the Sea food fettuccine well let me tell you if the rest of the food taste anything like what I had you are in for a very special Dinner! Top Notch restaurant and Excellent service Excellent Food the best I have had ever and I mean ever had for sea food! It's about $100 for two people Depending on what you order, I'm a big eater so of course it was a little more. So between $60 & $100 for two people but very well spent you won't regret it and will be back again I promise you! I live 69 miles away and wish I where closer and plan on going again soon. A BIG THANK YOU FOR THE OUTSTANDING MEAL! And Recommend you go to this place to eat, They also have steaks for the people who don't care for sea food. Hands Down the Best!

Went here for Mother’s Day. The food was delicious. Had two cocktails appetizers and a meal three people. We really enjoyed the food and the staff was very friendly highly recommend it.

Excellent! Six of us dined here before a concert and we all loved it. The food and drinks were fantastic. Our server was Catherine and she made a wonderful dinner even more enjoyable!
