Young's Sanitary Septic Services, Dillsburg PA

Have lived in our home since 1995 with Young's doing our septic service every 3 years. This year we needed a repair on our outlet baffle. I was worried cause I have heard anything septic can be expensive. The young man pumping our tank said not to worry it's usually around $500. I understand it's been tense with COVID restrictions but the older gentleman on the phone acted like he was doing us a huge favor by agreeing to a quote and said he wasn't even sure when they'd be able to get to it. The quote came back at $1450!
We called another provider (Smith's) and were quoted $399 ($229 to re-pump the tank to prepare it for repair and $170 for baffle install). Needless to say, we went with the second quote. Their guy was here within 2 days to pump (even took a hose and "rinsed" down the tank to get out the bottom sludge which had NEVER been done before by Young's) and the installers were here the next day and had the work completed within 45 minutes. The township inspector was just here and said everything looks GREAT!
I don't know if this was an attempt at price gouging by Young's or just grumpy man's way of getting rid of us but it worked - Young's has lost a customer for good.

Young’s did a great job! They were so kind and gave great detail as to what they were doing and even explained to me exactly how our septic tank worked so I now know all the dos and donts! I couldn’t have asked for a better interaction. These are very honest and hardworking people and I’m very appreciative. We will absolutely be staying with young’s for future services.
