They charged me $30 for gas although the car was filled up right before returning. I called them to ask and was told that I will be refunded the wrong charge. I still haven’t received my money. Are you guys trying to scam everyone who’s not paying attention to their bank statement?

Avis Saved The Day

We travel in a RV and rent cars at different locations. I had reserved a car for three days at Enterprise down the street five months before I arrived in Newport. Enterprise left me a voice mail the day before my arrival that confirmed my rental. I had my confirmed reservation in my hand when we arrived in September, but the car was not ready. We waited three hours and decided to take an Uber from the campground to the hotel in downtown Newport. I called the next day and they still didn’t have a car.

I took an Uber up to Avis where Aaran and Liz helped me with a rental. The woman ahead of me at Avis had experienced the same issue at Enterprise and was very unhappy.

I was told that Enterprise had a contract with the Navy and was out of cars. I am all for the Navy getting as many cars as they need, but it is Enterprise’s responsibility to provide cars for customers that have a confirmed reservation. If you don’t have cars don’t rent them.

Thank you Avis, we enjoyed Newport.

My rental experience was flawless! Shea was so very personable and helpful. The manager at pickup was a true gentleman. I would recommend this location to anyone visiting the Newport area!

Shay is AWESOME! I rented a car from an Avis located in Boston and then needed to return the car back to the Middletown location. While returning the car, I asked for my receipt of additional charges, knowing that returning the car at an alternative location would result in a fee. When I called Avis, they estimated $130. I was SHOCKED to receive the receipt for $2,500 land in my email. I audibly GASPED at the counter and immediately told Shay that it COULDN'T be right. I had driven the car around 200 miles, barely used half a tank of gas. Shay had put in the current mileage in the car upon me returning it to the location, around 5k miles. The location in Boston that I picked the car up from reported that the car only had 1k miles on it when I left the lot. Meaning that I would have had to drive the car 4 THOUSAND miles in the 4 days I had it. AKA I would've had to drive from Boston to Miami and back and THEN drive an additional 1k miles, maybe make a pit stop in Nashville or something. Clearly impossible. However, Shay adjusted the mileage and didn't give me a hard time. She calmed me down and took care of the charge. I am so grateful for her doing her due diligence and rectifying the situation. Note to self, always take a picture of the dashboard in your rental.

I drive a standard sedan so this outlander was a new experience for me. The vehicle was very comfortable, easy to drive, the back up technology and lane technology was helpful rather than intrusive.

Aaron and his team are truly the best. I am a preferred member, and I am consistently renting vehicles throughout the United States in the world. Each and every time I rent from this Middletown, Rhode Island location, Aaron provides the epitome of customer service, warm smile, and above and beyond communication. I highly recommend that you go to Avis for any of your South County Rhode Island needs.

Fantastic experience, clean facilities, accurate information, professional, knowledgeable, accommodating, efficient staff. Very nice experience. A thousand times better than "E** rentals" down the street. I will rent from them from now on exclusively!

Easy place to get into and out of. Better rates than getting from the airport. Location manager is nice and always had a good experience.

Ordered a car the size and specs needed to travel to and from surgery with. Upon arrival to pick up the sedan, the staff offered an SUV instead without notice. When we asked the staff why they didn’t have the car we reserved (there was an e-mail confirmation and photo of the type car) the woman told me if I didn’t like it to leave and look elsewhere. Extremely rude. I wanted a sedan because I got knee surgery and needed to sit down into the vehicle as I was unable to climb up into an SUV sized car. They didn’t seem to care about our needs at all and treated my mother disrespectfully, as if we were asking for too much by expecting the car we agreed to rent.
