American Restaurant A&W reviews
21We were just driving by and saw the place and instantly pulled in. Only grabbed couple root beers this time but server was friendly and look forward to coming back. So nice to see an independent little place like this still going. Put a smile on our face!
Always loved going here as a kid, now my grandkids love it and the car shows also.good food
Amazing A&W soda, Delishious foods and friendly service! I'd recommend going here. There's only One left in RI.
I love A&W but was a bit put off by this one concerning their prices and the burger was much more greasy than what I've enjoyed at A&W drive ins in other locations in the U. S.and Canada. Not 5 star.
Staff were lovely and accommodating, but the food was pretty bad. Bland burgers and inedible doughboys. Root beer floats were great, though. Not the staff's fault, they were amazing, just some awful grub during our visit.
Was disappointed. Expected more from them. Had burgers, fries, and a coffee milk shake. None of which I would brag about. It appears to be a novelty place playing off the old car hops restaurants. Window service only. Cash only.
Usually pretty good service, but I was just greeted by an angry worker at 7: 40pm telling me they were closed when the site says they close at 8pm. The worker served the group ahead of me then told me they were closed while the group was waiting for their food.
The food is good, price isn't bad, but cash only is a drawback, and it seems like i'm always waiting longer than the time estimate i'm given.overall worth the visit
A&W was great root beer floats were the best and great food will definitely be going again oh and car hops had a great time.
A childhood favorite. The prices may have increased since the days of "5 weiners for $2 with a medium root beer", but the quality is good, and they still have classic car hop service. Not to be missed in the summer.
The food is still good. The service is also pleasant. There is an ATM onsite but it is cash only.
Our waitress didn't seem to know the menu or how to respond to our questions. The food was decent but pricey
The root beer floats are good, the food is edible, and the service is good but slow because they come to your car to take your order.
Ordered 3 chocolate sundaes. Served in paper fry baskets. Melted ice cream, melted whip cream.melted mess. Pre-paid of course and told that's what's sundaes there looked like. Almost $22.00 for what looked like it had been sitting out in the sun. Blond woman is the owner? Manager? Ugh! Never again, Smithfield A&W!
Haven't seen an A&W in eons. Glad I found one. Will go back. Nothing beats A&W rootbeer!
Went there for my son's birthday dinner. Good service and good food. Best root beer in town.
Delicious food! Love the weekly car show! The A&W carhop is a true Americana survivor!
Didn't even get to order food. Was yelled at that there is no walk up window. Sat at the tables and never got served but was told there were only 2 working.
Horrible not only was she rude talking to me like I was dumb they actually put my pickels on the outside of my bun wich caused my bun to be soggy. Like come on now in her 16 years of living on this earth has she ever seen pickels on the outside of a bun
