Excellent service, quality products and a novel and meaningful shopping experience. Procuring clothing from Bedlam is really quite the experience overall and buying clothes online or from a brand name clothing store just cannot compare. It is not just seeing many wonderful clothes on in person and trying them all on. Rather, it is the proprietor whom really steals the show with his meticulousness, passion and cordiality. I cannot recommend this store enough, if you are in the New England area and like clothes of this style and or are part of the Goth, Industrial etc subcultures. You have to go to Bedlam at least once. Even if your interest in the products offered is relatively minor, you won’t regret it. I’m sure you’ll find at least one piece you like.

Best place ever. As a plus size girl it can be difficult to go shopping. But Matthew is the sweetest and helps to find something you feel good in. Whenever I go there he takes me through the store pulling out items he thinks will work and never ever makes me feel insecure about my size. He’s been in business a long time and there is good reason for it. He is a kind, genuine person who you can tell loves what he does and his store and the satisfaction of his customers is always #1 priority. The majority of my wardrobe is from Bedlam and I would never have found the awesome pieces I own without Matthews expertise and his patience.

Great place with great customer service! I been shopping here for many years and introduced it to my wife and she loves it! If you’re goth, punk, or a metalhead with style you will love this place! They also do layaway which is great because I can never just buy one item there’s just too much there that I want in my wardrobe!

I'm a plus sized goth. My punk fiance and I went to the store a day ago and spent an hour with a complete jerk. Matthew yelled at us for not seeing a "wear a mask" poster that was hidden behind a door handle. He fat shamed me the entire time I was in the store. He kept making a point to tell me that if i ripped anything I would be paying for it, to make sure I would pit the clothes I had picked out back on the shelf. He made comments such as "if you would lose some wait this would fit you", "if you were smaller you could fit better", "you don't look like a goth, your style is more trash", "people like me have been this way for years, since I was 15, not like most of you who try this out for a while and have a phase", "you're way too big for this section", "you have no business in this section, it's for the tiny gals", "you should have came when the fat girls hadn't cleared my plus sized collection out", "you're definitely a 3 or 4X"- mind you I'm large busted, so I wear a 1X to fit my bust. When I told him my actual size, he pulled a 2X sized shirt and yanked on it and said "yeah no, this won't even fit you" "before you even think about my clothing you should stretch it to see if it fits".
The dude was a pathetic poser and made me so angry for all the plus sized curvy women like me, who leave feeling humiliated and defeated while he judges you about something even he can't understand.
He's a joke.

This store was seriously such a dream come true for me. I was on vacation here from Colorado where there are absolutely no stores like this, nothing even kind of "spooky" like you could find in Salem. Waited all day for them to open and drove hours to get there, and it was totally worth it. A lot of the brands I shop online I finally was able to see in person and try on prior to purchasing. The owner was super helpful with recommendations and sizing. No tax on clothing was also a plus! I filled my entire suitcase with clothes to bring back home. Good price for quality items.

DONT LISTEN TO THE YELP REVIEWS! I visited with my friends today— absolutely incredible store and the owner is super helpful and knowledgeable! Be aware that he WILL be straight up and tell you if something may or may not fit, plus he won’t let you try on a $150 piece if you’re not serious about buying it— which is super reasonable.all in all, this is a truly one of a kind store and 100% worth the visit!

Walked in and was greeted with the best customer service I have ever experienced in my life. My experience felt very personalized, and Matthew went over every piece with great detail. They knew my size just by looking at me and ever piece he handed to me fit like a glove. I cannot wait for my partner to go with me again I know they are going to have a ball! I cannot wait to go back also they have a fantastic layaway program. Best shopping experience I ever had. I wish I was not pressed for time that day I would have stood longer! Great vibes and great atmosphere.

Definitely worth taking a trip. A big selection of high quality clothing at a reasonable price. Both men's and women's. With these styles, you really need to try them on - you just can't shop online and get the same guarantee of fit and quality. The owner really knows fashion, and the unique fit of everything in the store. He will take his time to go through all his inventory to find exactly what you like. One of the best shopping experiences you may ever have!

Had a great experience coming here, there's a ton of variety, really cool atmosphere and the store owner was super helpful and great to talk with. If you're looking for goth clothing and in the area, I highly recommend it!

Honestly, was really discouraged because I couldn't find anything in my size but then the owner came over and helped and went through everything and had me try on everything, unfortunately with goth brands things run small but I found some things I absolutely loved, dang covid weight!

If you are looking for clothes for the culture, this is the place. Prices are excellent for the quality lines carried in the store. The owner, always present, will give you a full review of everything article of clothing in the store.

After checking out the new merchandise, there is a back room where you can find some really great, gently used clothing. I scored 3 vintage tuxedo shirts, ruffles and all. Perfect

Vintage and "alternative clothing" can be found here along with many fun accessories. I'd say there's a little something for everyone; goth, industrial, lolita, mod, emo- you name it he probably has it. Matthew is very knowledgeable, helpful and generally pleasant to converse with. He diligently went through anything in my size that would fit me with attention to my particular style and was very kind and patient with my mother while we were shopping. He is a small business owner who obviously cares about his customers and the quality of the articles in the shop. I got an amazing leather jacket, a vintage top and a lovely faux fur coat. Bedlam is definitely a gem- there are no other stores like it in Providence.
