Black Point Ruins reviews
10I grew up in Narragansett and have never been to this place.so I decided to go Saturday not disappointed.
Iconic Rhode Island landmark, the ruins are easily accessible via Scarborough Beach and the Black Point Trail system. This is a great spot to take some photos. Both inside and outside are overrun by plants, and the vines running up the walls and through doorways and windows are really cool in my opinion. Hanging around really makes you think what it used to be, and what the area used to be like.
I went there to take pictures of the Milky Way but I wasn't paying attention to the fact that the half moon was high in the sky - duh. I got a few nice pictures of the night sky through the "windows, " though. There's not a lot of space inside so a very wide (14mm or so) lens is recommended. I'll go back when the moon is new and should get better photos. Sorry, I didn't take any with my phone to upload.
Great spot to catch a sunrise. Beach parking in the summer has a fee but free in the off season.
The ruins are the highlight of the Black Point Trail. The fallen down house is fun to explore and near Scarborough Beach. Between the ocean, sand, and dramatically crumbling stone, this is an ideal location for wedding photos, graduation pictures, or any other photo worthy event.
Highly recommend checking this place out! Easy trail for most people and a beautiful view all along the way!
The History and Home in it's day must have been magnificent by the sea. You can stand inside and feel the presence of History and admire.
I always miss the building but for the first time I found it. It’s good timing too because I was taking my graduation photos and it was a perfect day out.
Easily accessible from the beach and a trail. Parking lots are a bit of a hike in either direction, but it's a pleasant walk. It is overrun by thickets inside, so be careful of brambles, thorns and hitchhiking burrs. Shame that it has been hit with graffiti and is littered with broken bottles and other random trash.
