After meeting with several realtors, including some highly recommended industry veterans, we chose to work with Caitlin to purchase our first home because she took the time to understand our needs and expectations. It was a rocky process to find the right house and to get an offer accepted because of the volatile housing market, but after each showing, Caitlin took stock of our impressions, how we were adjusting our “wish list”, and used our feedback to fine tune the next house. We were looking for a unicorn: a fixer upper multi family that was within our price range while also being in our neighborhood. It was not a small ask. Caitlin helped hone our expectations and her upbeat, positive attitude made our search fun. In the time it took us to find our home, Caitlin knew our priorities and vision for our home. She was quick to respond and proactive during the search, which was crucial in 2019 when houses often were on the market for days if not hours before going under contract.

Caitlin had a knack for getting details and information well beyond what was listed in MLS, which was crucial when trying to hastily make a judgment on a distressed property. After a few months of searching, when we found the right house, Caitlin helped us craft an offer that was fair, but put enough pressure on the sellers to get them to accept our offer without relying on offering an absurd price, or waiving any contingencies.

Our home buying process was filled with lots of unexpected roadblocks, resulting in a lot more involvement and meeting with inspectors and city officials than anyone we spoke to had seen before. We never could have navigated all the red tape and careful negotiations without Caitlin. She really went to bat for us. She proved to be resourceful; whether it was from the city inspectors, the tax division, zoning division, the fire marshal, or getting estimates from contractors Caitlin got the information we needed quickly, and helped fix each issue as it arose. She even helped us navigate several issues that were discovered on the final walkthrough, including negotiating escrow holdbacks to repair heat and hot water that were no longer working, a water leak that had developed, and strong arming the sellers into getting rid of a mountain of trash piled up in the house and all over the front yard they intended to leave.

While our home buying experience was far from stress free, Caitin was by our side, and we couldn’t imagine getting to closing without her help. We always felt that we were a priority and working with Caitlin was like working with a friend. We looked forward to viewing houses, even when we felt the fatigue from rejected offers or disappointed listings, because she was upbeat and excited to joke with us about all the good, the bad, and the ugly things we’d come across. Since closing on our house, we have continued to work with her when we’ve needed to find tenants, with Caitlin celebrating each of our milestones along the way, and have recommended her to our friends and family; several of whom have also chosen to work with her and have let us know how pleased they were with that decision.
