Don Jose Tequilas Restaurant reviews
16 Hostess seated me at the bar.
Sat there for 20 minutes and no one came by to take an order or anything. Walked out and ate at the Oyster Bar down the street. Great food there, can't say about this place.
Atmosphere is good but the food was not. The hand made guacamole was very bitter too much lemon no flavor the Mar y Tierra plate, the steak was drowning in sauce and there was only two shrimp on the plate the drink were good but I won't go there to eat food again
I am not a local and live in another state, but a friend took me here. Was appalled to see that zero social distancing were being practiced. Is this just how it is for this town? The place is small and had way too many people, only 2 feet apart in an enclosed space. They had these screen dividers between tables but do they believe that the virus know what a screen devider is. How is this allowed? People were literally inhaling each other’s breathe. They also told us we would have to wait at most 40 minutes for a table but it ended up being over an hour. I understand there was nothing they could do about it, but just beware that the wait is long. Plus the place is small so you’d have to wait in the cold.
There is a way of speaking to customers. If your server made the mistake of taking a reservation and apologizes, that is fine; however when your BOSS disregards it all. The experience becomes worthless. Not only did he interrupt her before she went into apologizing, he never did, told us to wait outside took a couple before us.there’s more but it’s useless. Just have respect and be kind.
My boyfriend and I decided to stop in this past Saturday 4/10 and we were very disappointed with the service. We have been coming here for some time and never had a bad experience until this weekend. First of the waiter took for ever to come back with our drinks after sitting down. I order the chicken enchiladas and asked to please not add the cheese. The food took forever to come and the enchiladas still had cheese smh. We then ordered 2 more drinks and the waiter came out about 3 times but never brought out our drinks at this point we were over it and just asked for the bill smh.
We went on 2/13 which, of course, was busy due to Valentine's Day. We were able to make a reservation but still waited 45 mins, half of it outside. The salsa and chips came 20 mins after sitting there. I ordered the enchiladas - which came out 30 mins later with the wrong sauce, beef instead of chicken and the cheese wasnt even melted inside. They fixed the plate but by that time, we were ready to wrap up our meal. I've heard great things and might try again at another time.
Very loud obnoxious table that it was either owner or manager was drinking with patrons, place was dirty, and was over priced for what it was
Terrible customer service! I called Tuesday to make a reservation of 10 and I was told I was reserved. I called to confirm and I was told there was no reservation available. Unfortunately I became upset and I called back to apologize and see if I can arrange something and the manager hung up on me.
Horrible. The male waiter was not paying attention to us and very distracted. My receipt said his name was Edgar. Our empty drink glasses sat for the whole meal. He never asked us if we wanted another drink and we had to ask a passing by waitress for another drink. He never asked us how our meal was, after bring the incorrect dish. When we did get a second drink, our empty glasses sat on our tiny table, until we left. We sat there for 15 minutes after we were done eating, and had to ask for our check. The other wait staff was very attentive to their customers.
This place is ridiculously expensive and their portions are petite. I paid $20 for 6 shrimps, half a cup of rice, half of half a cup of beans and lettuce and $17.00 for a Margarita. I will not be returning ever again. I do no recommend it ever
They have a rear tequila collection thats un heard of. The owners to thw employees gives you that warmth feeling of just being there. I recommand those tequila lovers and Mexican dishes lovers to come and enjoy the atmospher, food and drinks. 100%
So surprised I've never been here before! Amaaaazing margaritas to start, mezcalrita was the best choice for me, with the chili lime rim by choice. Our food was prompt and delicious. Our waitress was AMAZING. Can't wait to come back to try more drinks and dishes!
This restaurant reminds me of the joke from Annie Hall movie; "the food from this restaurant is horrible.and the portions are so small". Cardinal sin for a restaurant is to take over an hour to serve a meal then have it show up cold and tasteless. The short ribs tasted like they were cooked in toilet water. Bartender should strengthen drinks to numb patrons tastebuds. The margarita tasted like straight mixer.
This place was absolutely delicious, great customer service. The waiter took the time to explain everything on the menu. Two people is about 50$ highly recomend
Quality margaritas and the table-side guacamole was good, but a bit salty. Small resteraunt so be prepared to be close to another table and have voices carry. Good service and the entrees were fresh and well prepared.
Delicious food, great options/variety. Love the atmosphere and if there's a long wait in the winter try to get in at the bar!
