Ellie's, Providence RI

I love this place. Everyone is very nice, the ingredients are all local, and the food is amazing. The only thing I will say is that the breakfast menu is a bit limited, but if you visit knowing this is more of a "cafe" style place you won't be disappointed. Lunch menu is a bit bigger. Lots of places to choose from in PVD but I've found myself coming back here more so than other places.

Delicious and cozy café! Very spacious, high ceiling, huge windows; overall a very comfortable café experience. (Also - the macarons and coffee were amazing!)

I strolled into Ellie’s for lunch on a chilly weekday and was transported to an entirely different world. The ambiance is giving French boulangerie and the food stands up to high-level French pastry standards.

I had to wait in a bit of a line because it was so busy, but the food came out quickly after I ordered. I grabbed a gingerbread coffee and an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a croissant. The warming gingerbread spices in the coffee were everything you’d want on a cold winter day. The croissant was lovely—flaky, buttery, and everything you could hope for. The tomato jam on the egg sandwich brightened everything up nicely too!

TLDR: Go, try all of their pastries, and try to pick an off-peak time to check it out! (And if you do find an off-peak time to go and you read this review…can you let me know what that time is!?)

Ellie’s is on of my favorite places to get cakes for birthdays and events. I’ve tried Chocolate Raspberry (chocolate cake, raspberry jam, raspberry buttercream fillinabuttercream), Earl Grey Lemon
(Earl Grey oat milk-soaked vanilla cake, lemon curd, Earl Grey buttercream, candied lemons), and Apple Chai
(spiced vanilla cake, apple butter, chai buttercream, caramel, candied walnuts). Me and my family’s favorite cakes are Chocolate Raspberry and Apple Chai. Very savory and flavorful! I would highly recommend

Excellent work! I had them design my cake for my baby shower, and had monogramed macaroon favors from them as well. They looked so elegant. They have so many flavors to choose from and they delivered right to my venue. Stephanie was great to work with and was able to work out some last minute changes which was greatly appreciated. Will be ordering from them for future events. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place, quiche is not bad, coffee very good.desserts, meh. Very busy in the morning.

After I came home from a trip to Paris, this was my first restaurant stop to try and keep the feeling (and croissants) flowing. My favorite coffee shop to bring clients or meet friends, the space is bright and beautiful. The coffee is delicious, never burnt or bitter. And the pastry case is a huge temptation, full of special and beautiful treats. Can't find me? I'm just at Ellie's!

We always love Ellie’s. The poutine is my favorite; it has so much flavor! Their cakes are also very thoughtfully composed- though I would definitely join their e-mail list; they always showcase their offerings there, and you can pre-order for events like Valentine’s Day, etc. Everything is always delicious here!

The cutest boutique cafe with delicious desserts, coffee bar, and great lunch time options. Great for a quick stop or to work from when you need a break from the home office. You can't go wrong here.

The French Macaron’s are the best I have ever had in my life!

The breakfast sandwiches are also amazing. The staff is nice, the location is clean too! There is enough space to sit, relax, and enjoy yourself.

Ellie's made the cake for our wedding on 11/04/22 in Newport, RI. We visited Ellie's for our cake tasting last December which was a wonderful experience in and of itself, and from there choosing Ellie's for our wedding cake was a very easy decision. We worked with Stephanie to create a custom cake flavor and to talk through our design ideas - our reception was in an ornate ballroom so we wanted our cake design to be clean and simple, and Stephanie completely understood what we wanted. On top of the beautiful design, the cake itself was so delicious! I would absolutely work with Ellie's again, and I highly recommend them for your wedding cake needs! Stephanie - thank you so much for your help!

Every time I return to Providence I stop in for breakfast at Ellies.

I visited Sunday at 8: 10am, the ladies working today were awesome and pleasant. And this has actually been my repeating experience since 2016 at their previous location.

My favorite is the Signature breakfast sandwich with their homemade tomato jam.

My only thought and it’s not a complaint it’s more of a “really? ” Is the $5.00 cost for a chocolate croissant. I get that ahoy are in a city, prime real estate and all that comes with it but I just think that’s excessive. Especially when your Sig. Sandwich is 6 and that’s with egg.

Incredible breakfast and very kind staff. We can't wait to come back. Our little kids (three and one years old) loved the yogurt parfait.

Parking in the area was a bit tricky and hard to find but soooo worth it. The staff are amazing and remembered that I mentioned that it my birthday. The food was excellent and great portion. The salad was very good and had lots of flavors.

A great breakfast place in the heart of downtown providence, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely go for their breakfast sandwich and bouchon (small brownies). Their cappuccino was a bit disappointing though.
