First Baptist Church in America

. We went for a special Lovecraftian event, so i suppose the ambiance was perfect for that and the organ was great. But.is that really the type of review a church wants: that it is appropriate and works great for a Lovecraft special event? Well, it does.

A cool bit of history. Read the short history. I find it amazing that churches charged rent for individual pews back in those days. Pre tithing I guess. Beautiful building outside and the sanctuary too.

Full disclosure, was there for an event unrelated to normal worship. Building is an impressive historical treasure. Mind your step on the way in, the threshold stones show their age.

Such a great historic landmark with such rich history. They are very blessed to have Pastor Jamie Washam as their guide. She is so passionate about the deep history rooted here and how we need to study and learn from it to move forward.

I was eager to visit this historical place and my surprise was that they are closed for remodeling. What a disappoinment, since I live far away. I hope to have a future opportunities.
