Hammetts Wharf, Newport RI

Location, service, cleanliness, views and a modern touch is what makes Hammetts Wharf our number 1 hotel in Newport. My wife and I frequent Newport at least 5x a year. Once Hammetts opened up a few years back we gave it a try and have not stayed anywhere else since.

The only downside to Hammetts would be the room size. They are very small, but if you can look past that you will be fine. Longest we have stayed was 3 nights and my wife packs as if she is staying for 3 weeks. We did just fine, cramped, but fine.

Pro Tip: take advantage of Black Friday sales. We landed a $107/night rate that we used to book a 3 night stay between Xmas and the New Year.

We asked if we can be upgraded to an ocean view and they gave us a suite on the 3rd floor overlooking the wharf for no additional charge. Thank you so much Hammetts for being a great addition to our Newport experience!

A beautiful wharf. Right on the Harbour. A good place to bring your coffee and sit looking at the Harbour. A few exclusive shops, an Italian restaurant is aldso on the wharf. I was there early in the morning, so nothing was open.
And if course hammets hotel is there.

A newish boutique hotel along Newport’s #thamesstreet, Hammet’s Wharf is this welcoming accommodation that pays homage to curated works of artists with strong ties to the city. The #sarahlangley gallery has seasonal curated works there, as well as some of the photographs of #elliotlandy. Pretty cool. The attention to detail to the rooms makes you appreciate your stay there even more. Not a lot of hotels have this feature. I felt as if I was sleeping in my dream room, if that makes sense. The hotel is close to the marina; it’s next to the Italian resto #Giusto; valet and self-parking are on street level; patio where you can enjoy the sun; and the lobby - well this is a story all on its own. Again the attention to detail is on display. Unusual for a hotel; it’s like someone’s living room. Loved my stay there. And will go back for sure. Highly recommend! Knocked a star off just because i like my front desk to know stuff about nice places to go to. He wasnt as knowledgeable as I expected. Not a deal breaker to stay here. Just my own thing

Great hotel, very comfortable and great staff. Hotel is right on the pier and near all the restaurants which makes it very convenient. Ben checked me in and was very helpful. Would definitely come back and stay here.

The hotel is beautiful, nautical style, clean. Front desk and housekeeping staff are def great. Thank yo Ben, Anita, and other front desk crew. I def recommend this hotel.

Picked a perfect weekend in the fall to stay in Newport. First time staying at the hotel. The sitting area between the two buildings is really great.

Had no idea when we sat down at Giusto that we were at their soft opening (first night). I feel very fortunate that we were there for dinner because honestly.once people hear about this restaurant it will be hard to get a reservation. Our server (Gregory) was amazing and recommended the best dishes. The chef is not kidding around. Every plate was perfection. It's not often that we think every moment of a dinner out is on point and we live in NYC - Giusto was just that.
