Hampton Inn & Suites Providence Downtown

On the positive side, the staff were friendly and attentive, the location and shuttle service was great, and the room was very good overall.

A few things that can be done better:
- The TV remote was not functional upon arrival. I went to the front desk and swapped out the remote, but that didn't work either. I called the front desk and someone came up with several remotes - one finally worked.
- The refrigerator was not cold enough and there were no obvious controls to make it colder. I called the front desk but did not have time for someone to come up while I was in the room to fix it.
- The breakfast was mediocre. The potatoes were barely cooked, the toaster took forever to toast, the juices tasted terrible, the fruit salad seemed to be not fresh and tasted weird and the floor in the breakfast area was always sticky - during breakfast and afterwards as well. However, the coffee, yogurts, cereal and waffles were very good.

Beautiful architectural details left intact while rooms are modern and comfortable. Building used to be a hotel for priests, so check out the history of the place when you stay here!

It was a good stay. The staff was nice. Great accessibility to all of downtown Providence and pretty close to the university side of the river. If I ever need to come back to Providence, I'll check here for vacancy first.

This is my go to hotel when I'm in providence. Always clean, rooms are excellent and the staff is some of the best I've encountered as they are always willing to help.

My family and I decided to do an impromptu trip to Providence for Labor Day Weekend. Everything about our stay was enjoyable. The vallet service was friendly and prompt, the guest check in was quick and easy, and the bedroom was very comfortable. The room was a standard king room with a sofa pull out bed. Our 9 year old enjoyed having his own space as we did ours. The sofa bed did need to be folded up to walk around to exit the room or access the wet bar, but wasn't really that big of a deal. The bathroom was comfortable and spacious. The sink and mirror are separate from the shower and toilet which allows for multiple person use. The king bed was very comfortable. Not too firm and not too soft. The hotel is centrally located by plenty of wonderful restaurants and the water. Fantastic location for a small weekend stay!

Great spot in downtown. Rooms were per Hampton standard but we didn't have a mini fridge which was a surprise. Lobby/ breakfast area is nice, tall ceilings and good space.

A lovely hotel that is conveniently located in downtown Providence. I had one major problem but they quickly rectified it.

For staying I give it 5 stars, but for the breakfast only 2.bad coffee, bad bread, pastry, nothing to choose from, except omelet!

Very good, breakfast was fine, have the front desk clarify the "Housekeeping only comes when you ask" Because they came when I never requested it, and to me it's much less green because of that. Aside from that, everything else was really nice, the couch was comfortable, I liked that it came with a microwave, It's in a really good locations, so a 15 minute walk yields many different things to do in town. The staff were all fantastic. Extended breakfast hours were amazing, and the pillows were, as always, my favorite part of my stay. Thank You

I would recommend finding another place to stay in Providence. This was the worst Hampton Inn I have every stayed at. Very small room, no refrigerator or microwave in the room. The charge $28 a day to park. No free parking at all. The Breakfast was ok but I have had better. I don't think many people were staying there. I never saw anyone in the hall or elevator during my 3 night stay. The only guest I saw were at breakfast and the most I saw at anytime was 3. Not worth what I paid.

Very nice hotel in a beautiful historic building. The staff is very friendly and hlepful. Parking garage isconvenient and practically attached to the hotel. Our room was very big and had great views of downtown Providence.

It's a clean place with nice staff, well. Aside from the doorman that just stands there. My room was not correct and Jodi at the front desk helped me straighten it out. This is a great spot for the area, seriously.

This is our go to place in Providence. Great location, parking out back $20.00 overnight. Big rooms great staff. Special thanks to Bri at the front desk. We had a minor issue that was taken care of quickly and professionally. This type of service is what keeps us coming back. Thanks again!

Had a terrible airbnb experience and needed to hotel room desperately. Gentleman at the front desk was awesome and made sure we got a room that very minute. Place was clean and comfortable.
