My father was starting to fail in the 2000s. I was alerted by the local senior center to consult an elder affairs attorney in order to protect my mother; she consulted Mark Heffner. As a result of Mr. Heffner's efforts my mother is able to live comfortably in an excellent independent living facility. As she approaches her life's end she again consulted him for guidance. He helped her update her will, formulate power of attorney for finanical and health issues, and established a trust to protect a sibling's special circumstances. All performed in a thoroughly professional manner with sometimes arcane details clearly explained. My wife and I, no longer young, will meet with Mark next week to get our elder affairs in order.

Mark and his team did an amazing job in helping me resolve a very complicated legal situation involving a family member of mine who had been hospitalized due to a new diagnosis of dementia. Mark accomplished this long distance as I do not live in Rhode Island and I was unable to travel there. I found Mark to be experienced, professional, extremely knowledgeable and persistent. He was expeditious and did not waste my time or money. He was very accessible and prompt in all of his communications with me including the writing and submission of legal documents. I was referred to Mark Heffner and his staff in the early 2000s by a close business associate. My mother had recently passed, and my sister Mary had been living with her. My sister, a retired nurse, was not employed at the time. We discovered my mother had incurred a significant unpaid bill to the nursing home where she had resided for several years. The state of RI was moving legally to secure the debt owed by selling my mother’s residence.

I contacted Attorney Heffner to secure his assistance. After several months of meetings with state boards, Attorney Heffner was able to legally secure permission for my sister to occupy residence and have the past debt legally forgiven.

On 11/29/20, my sister suffered a stroke, was admitted to Rhode Island hospital, and is presently a patient at Greenville Nursing Home in Greenville RI. Attorney Heffner and his staff assisted me in preparing the house’s sale, which occurred successfully in September of 2021.

Throughout my association with Attorney Heffner and his staff, I received completely professional and successful treatment to the benefit of our entire family.

I can't believe this guy. Our family used Mark years ago for estate planning. I just lost my mother and called to help my father get some copies. He was so rude and unprofessional, wouldn't listen and actually hung up on me. Wow, a grown man hanging up on someone. He must be having a bad day, but I wouldn't recommend using him for anything.
