High Hope Tavern reviews
19 Always a pleasure stopping in at High Hope! Love the atmosphere and delicious drinks. A very welcome addition to the town of Westerly.
Thank you Nico for your hard work and excellent service.
Loved the vibe at this restaurant. The bar is always hopping and inviting and the decor is very homey and approachable. Been twice and had fantastic meals both times.
Great oysters great bartenders Sam And Tom rock going back for a full meal can't wait
We visited this venue for the first time, and were very impressed. The decor is nautical and spacious and pleasing. Our server was helpful and sweet and shared an appropriate enthusiasm for items on the menu. We enjoyed our martinis, and a round of oysters which were delicious. The triple fried french fries are also recommended. We were just in for a light bite, and will definitely return to try other things on the menu.
Ok this place is.not that great. Only positive I can say is that the kitchen stays open late. Prices are unlisted and honestly $24 for an average hamburger is crazy. The cocktails were odd with rhubarb and stuff. You wanna be adventurous this is your place. The acoustics were bad, too loud to have a conversation, so everyone is constantly screaming. Others were enjoying but not for me. If looking for loud and high energy this might be for you, but if you want a nice relaxing meal where you can talk you to your friends/family
Newer cocktail spot in Westerly with thoughtful food and drink options. The roasted squash was a culinary gift! Great nautical theme and clean decor.
Thank you beau for a wonderful time! Great to share some industry solidarity over delicious, stunning drinks and a yummy bite! Already looking forward to being back.
Great night at High Hope Tavern!
Atmosphere was pleasant…. Hamburger and Fries were delicious!
Had the Pineapple and the Watermelon Margarita’s…. YUM!
Desserts are top notch too!
Butterscotch Pudding! Oh My!
Starting with the good: It’s a beautiful location and the menu and cocktail/ wine selection is exceptional. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with Anchovies, i had the clams and my husband had fish and chips. If I were leaving this review strictly based on the food, it would easily be five stars.
My complaints are more with the positioning and hospitality of the restaurants staff.upon being seated the server went through the menu with us and let us know that the secondi section of the menu was great for sharing. Maybe shareable by New York City portion standards but by Rhode Island portion size standards, you would be disappointed if you only ordered one entrée to share.especially if you didn’t get a couple of appetizers first.
Now for the experience. We went in the Saturday evening before Mother’s Day for a little early Mother’s Day celebration. We had a 5pm reservation and had our 12 month son with us. From the moment I walked in the door with him we were looked at by the wait staff as if we had brought a rabid dog into the restaurant.we weren’t offered a highchair, we weren’t offered anything at all for him. When I requested a highchair, I was told that they would “try and find one”.
I am all for elevated dining, but you’re in a very vacation and family friendly area so you need to be prepared for the fact that you’re going to have young children in the restaurant. And you’re not a fine dining establishment, the name of your restaurant is literally tavern. If you didn’t want to attract families, this name and location might not have been the right choice. As a Mom (and server in a past life) I am fully aware of the challenges of young children in restaurants, but families of young children shouldn’t feel unwelcome.
Love the atmosphere! The staff is always welcoming. The food is really good especially if your looking for a nice night out in town and something different. Will recommend to anyone.
Went in for drinks with a friend. We had one of the best old fashioned cocktails we have ever had! Great atmosphere and even better service!
Absolutely love the atmosphere and hands down the most beautiful restaurant in Westerly. All of the food I’ve tried has been amazing and looking forward to future visits and trying what’s new.
LOVE this place! Great music beautiful atmosphere and the staff is always friendly. The drinks have a creative touch and my martinis are always chilled perfect! The Caesar salad, mushroom risotto and linguine Vongole are some of my favorites- still have more menu items to try and can’t wait- never disappointed! ️️️️️️️
High Hope Tavern has now become my go to reasturant in Westerly.
The menu is fantastic and ever changing, to keep things fresh.
The raw bar is second to none in this area.
I’ve been to High Hope Tavern several times and absolutely love the food, drinks, and service. It’s also a gorgeous venue. Recently had the seafood roll with fries. Delicious! Risotto is one of my favorites. The burger is probably the best I’ve had. Looking forward to my next meal there!
The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. The corn beef hash with Hollandaise was probably the best I’ve ever had. Also great side salad, very fresh produce/amazing dressing. I will definitely be coming back regularly.
Way over priced! Especially for down town Westerly! We are not in New York people! But there excuse was people from New York go there to eat and there food is fresh! Well that steak wasn’t right off the cow and it was very fatty! $68 was way over priced!
This place is so elegant and upscale- we love it! The food is amazing and the service is excellent. We love the decor too! This is our new favorite spot! ️️️️️
Very nice place! Shawn and Nico were great at the bar and our food was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the Seashells by the Seashore for a healthy refreshing twist on the classic gin and tonic (minus the tonic part). Can’t wait to go back there again!
