Ichiban Restaurant, Cranston RI

We started coming here for our date nights and would sit in the back corner booth every time it was available. One of the staff told us that this booth had the notorious ability to make people get married and have babies.
We now are married with babies so be careful of the corner booth!
Also this is the best Kopdol Bibimbab (hot stone), yakisoba, and sushi around. Oh and I almost forgot, when I die I asked my husband to burry me in the kimchi fried rice because, well you’ll see. The crazy dragon roll is amazing and the wasabi isn’t dyed horseradish. We hope to one day get our chopsticks on the wall but till now, we will just enjoy this hidden gem.

Don't know who ruined Rozana's day, but I personally have always enjoyed the food here since highschool. Everything is very fresh and you would know that if you ever talked to the owner. The beef Bulgolgi is phenomenal, the kimchi chigae is top tier, and they have some of the best gyoza in the state. The service, at least in my experience, has been nothing but great. The owners are always so polite and fun to talk to. Anyway, Ichiban will always be my favorite restaurant in RI.

Sushi was not fresh. We requested no tobiko yet received it. Meats did not taste fresh either, breaded shrimp tasted frozen. Hands down, some of the worst Korean/Japanese food that I have ever had in my life. We were a party of 5 adults and one child and NONE of us enjoyed our food. Even the drinks were terrible. Don't bother if you have a palate.

I will add that the kimchi pancake was a treat. All else was an uninspiring vomit of flavors. The end.

I never take the time to write a review but I just had to after an amazing dinner there. Amazing food! Great staff that are so welcoming.

My friends love it here for sushi. I come along for scorpion bowls and soup. They have a few different soups, mostly Korean ones for those.

Authentic Korean/Japanese food with great flavours.

Food was fantastic but what really made the place was how friendly the staff was. The man who was our waiter talked to us about where I’m from and what I did for work. Constantly made sure we had everything we needed. Owner of the restaurant was equally as pleasant. A hidden gem run by a kind a thoughtful family.

Great dumpling soup, and so filling I couldn't get very far into my teriyaki beef, which was also excellent. And the service was great.

Ichiban is classic Korean food

The owner actually went to study on South Korea on the cuisine and cooking style and decided to bring it back to the US. I have to say this restaurant has become a staple in this neighborhood. The staff, owners, and anyone working there are personable people.

To the food, I highly recommend either the hot stone bibibimbap. Or the pork bulgolgi because the pork is cooked to tender where the spicy just hits really well. For the appetizer, honestly it’s a tie for me between the kimchi pancake that is make to eat there to enjoy the crispy pancake. Or the sticky wings with delicious sweet and spicy sauce. But also, the tempura vegetables are so good too.

Really enjoyed Ichiban Restaurant - it was very pleasant to dine in. Great service - unsure of the one who serve me is the owner but she was lovely. She made me and nieces feel welcome. She was attentive, inviting and warm - thank you for your lovely service. She went above and beyond by surprising my niece with a delicious mango fried ice cream! Thank you again. In addition, the food was delicious I highly recommend this restaurant for good Korean and Japanese food! I look forward to dining here again.

Diverse menu and it all tasted great! I went with several people, so we ordered lots of food to try both sushi and the korean dishes. I am a big fan of their soups (kimchi stew and the more brothy beef soup with chap jai noodles in it were my favs). The staff were also very courteous and helpful! Looking forward to going back soon!

The food was very good and the wait staff was excellent. They brought special chopsticks for the kids and even gave us a an antiseptic and bandaid for the little one since she had a fall on the way in.

If you come here you will never go anywhere else for sushi. All the one, two and three star reviews are from people you will never satisfy

Every time satisfaction, no questions asked. So good I WISH I could keep it secret but they are so good in quality, so customer concerned and friendly I want them to do well. A Treasure, I travel from Massachusetts to go here. Just always the best

Excellent food. Good prices. Great staff. Family friendly and fun for friends and groups. Excellent choice if you are in RI and want sushi.
