Islander Restaurant reviews
14 Just happened to be driving by and decided to stop.
Fast and happy services.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Loved the Crab Ragoons and Beef Fried Rice.
The Kung Pao Chicken is no exaggeration 80% veggies and peanuts 20% chicken. On top of that they don't even give you white rice with your dish, you have to pay for it seperately.
Very relaxing atmosphere and kind staff. The meal was heavenly and quiet enough to have a normal conversation. We beat the dinner rush by 15 minutes. The do except reservations every day.
They've been scumming people on substitutions for YEARS. I tried to order a combo plate with no bean sprouts in my fried rice (allergy) and was told they can't do that. I proceeded to order everything separate and my total magically went from $11 to almost $40 for the same EXACT food. Never again will I pay anything remotely close to this, as there are at least 4 other Chinese places near by with equal or better quality food.
Pretty good food but nothing out of this world. Chicken fried rice, chicken fingers, sticky wings, teriyaki, curry chicken, chicken lo mein & general Tao. Those options are pretty good. There isn't anything that spicy or super flavorful. They have decent options & lots of seating with a friendly staff.
The whole restaurant feels very outdated. Not my favorite Chinese food place but it's okay. Back in the day it was a lot better. Nowadays it's just very average nothing that special but decent for larger groups or parties. It's like a 5.5 out of 10.
Every single thing we ate was the worst Chinese I have ever eaten. The pupu was spoiled and tasted rotten. Bone in ribs were tough and you could not get the meat off the bone. Crab Rangoon had a little bit of filling and chicken wings were dry. Dumplings overcooked. Islander chicken wasn’t good, sweet and sour soup was ok. Not the best. Egg rolls bad. If there was less than 1 star I would have chosen it.
This used to be a great place to eat but not now. Very expensive and we had to throw it away. Don’t go here. Waste of money.
Always great food. Quick friendly service. We always have great things to say about The Islander
The Islander has definitely gone downhill. We got take out last night and the Lo mein was soggy, the boneless spare ribs were super fatty, the beef teriyaki was dry and tasteless, but at least the chicken wings were decent. However, their prices were considerably higher then on their website menu. When my husband picked up our phone order, he was told they "haven't updated our site in a while. "
I personally find that inappropriate and offensive. If you post a price on your website, you own it, not the customer. Needless to say, in the future, we plan on ordering from their competitors a few blocks away.
Food is always great! However we went for lunch but had lousy service with hardly anyone there. I had to get my own duck sauce from the hostess and had to go back to her for to go containers and find our bill. I took away a star because of this. Overall, we will return but hopefully have a different waitress.
Christmas day this was the only place open. Usually eat at Han Palace. Food was mediocre and duck sauce and mustard come in little plastic packets. Will not return.
Way more food, at dirt cheap prices, that anyone could ever eat at one meal. There's a reason this place has been around for 50 years.
We ordered General Taos Chicken, lo mein and beef teriyaki. The chicken was tough, over breaded and had terrible flavor. The lo mein tasted bad and had a greasy sauce. The beef teriyaki was just ok. We will not be back!
Their sticky wings are the best around! The service was great, always plenty of food and really good too!
Very tasty, large amount and plentiful entrees with many choices. The serivce was very friendly, fast and kept us engaged. Also has a very nice party room for many different functions.
