Jamestown Newport Ferry reviews
21This was a great tour of the Newport Harbor area on a comfortable boat without a bad view on either level or side. The tour was narrated so we learned lots of history. The crew was pleasant. Our kids fell asleep but we really enjoyed it! The boat has a bar and bathroom so all needs were accommodated. Well done!
Joyce the boat's first mate was a lovely and competent cruise director! She was friendly and engaging, remembering us from an earlier trip.
Best way to travel the bay and to Newport. Great, friendliest staff, lovely boats! Thank you!
Took the ferry from Jamestown for a picnic lunch at Rose Island Lighthouse. Enjoyed the history and the view. Also hopped off at Fort Adams and took the guided tour. Great day out!
We had a wonderful ride each way the crew were all so friendly and helpful and the ride itself was really lovely
Awesome time. Great way to get to New Port, scenic route. Captain Bert and his mate (?) were friendly and made the trip enjoyable. Next time I'd love to have more time to visit Rose Island and Fort Adam's. Special Day. Also the woman at the ticket booth was exceptional at her job, great tips and friendly.
Love love love this experience. Well worth it to visit so many beautiful places. We got a bonus with the captain telling some of his historical knowledge of parts of the trip.
What a great way to see the harbor. We got on at Anne St and road for all stops past the beautiful scenery. Cpt. Brian made it fun. Didn't have time to get off and visit Rose Island, that is on our list for next year.
We LOVE LOVE the staff and crew of the Jamestown ferry. However it would be so super great if the last ferry back from Newport Folk Festival could be timed AFTER the event finishes by 30 mins (when it really ends, not when it's scheduled to finish). To be sure of catching the last ferry we missed the last 20 mins or so of the event which was a bit of a downer. Can't say enough about the wonderful crew tho!
First visit to Jamestown, wonderful experience on the hop on hop off ferry and seeing the Newport yachts up close.
Love the ferry-the ride, the staff, the service, everything was smooth from beginning to end.
Great service to and from the Newport Folk Festival. Easy to use, pleasant and professional staff. I highly recommend!
I took my grandchildren on the ferry from Ann St Pier getting off at Fort Adams and Rose Island. We had a great day exploring. They are 9 and 7 and it was a great day keeping them busy and seeing things from the water.
The crew were amazingly good and very approachable. I personally love the Rose Island Lighthouse experience, the experience is worth more than what you'll pay for. I will definitely do this again! ️️️
Arrive early. These folks leave ahead of schedule.
Ferry makes seeing the sites easy.
Great way to get from laid back Jamestown to Newport without the hassle of parking there. Also ideal transport to Folk Festival.
2022 update: while a lot has changed the ferry is still around providing friendly reliable service
The convenience alone is well worth the ticket as I hate the hassle of trying to find parking but I have to say, this was one of the highlights of my trip to Newport. They have a great staff that is incredibly hospitable and knowledgeable of the area. As a single traveler, sometimes it feels awkward to go do things alone but the staff and other tourists on the ferry made it a great outing. Would definitely recommend!
Fun for all.
Fantastic.
Round trip about an hour and a half.
4 stops for hop on, hop off.
Just did this today
$24 bucks and rode all day
Stopped at Rose Island and Fort Adam's
Can't wait to do this again with my niece and nephews. They were very nice people and they served my friend some alcohol which was cool.
