Mama Leone's reviews
14Absolute horrible service! Joanne as an owner is the most disrespectful, rude person ever! Her employees are very disrespectful and when my husband and I explained our situation she didn’t let us speak and swore and hung up on us. When we told her we order there twice a week and my husband told her his mother that went there everyday for her lunch break before she passed away Joanne said “I don’t care about your dead mother we don’t want your business” … how do you not care Joanne when you just gave my husband free food and hugged him because of his loss. Never support this business!
I don't usually don't give a negative review unless have I tried something 3 times, however this new location is not much better than their original place was in recent years prior to closing.
Was hoping they improved their Eggplant Parmesan entree, but it's actually more wimpy than when when they were on the rotary near the navy base. Asked for sauce on the side because I don't like my eggplant drowned out and soggy in sauce and instead of putting cheese on the eggplant they put it on the pasta. Was disappointing that I was only given three very thin slices that were less than adequate and was so thin I could not taste it. Also ordered the half size House Salad for $5.50 and was given a small plastic container with what seemed like frugal portioned pieces of tomato and cucumber and the carrots were large lazy chunks rather than shredded or sliced. It did't seem like they offer pasta refills as they once did, but I probably would not have ordered more anyway because the Penne tasted dry, chalky and cheap like they bought out Job Lots expired inventory.
They were once successful and had made their name in Newport but I just don't think their heart is in the business anymore as was obvious when they didn't let the public know what was going on after their rotary location closing.
Rude staff. Poor quality food. Go elsewhere. They also doubled their prices on some things, so the quality is not reflected in the price you pay.
Both pizza and the customer service at Mama Leone's are awesome! I'm happy I finally found a place around the island with delicious, quality pizza!
Good luck getting this store to answer the phone past 8: 30. Every single time I have called to place a order no one answers. This has been happening for over a month or two I swear the chefs there are just lazy and don’t want to cook past 9.even though it says they are open until 11
Pizza and calzone both very good and easily fed family of four. Great value and quickly brought our food. Sauce not too sweet and cheese is quality. Not as Italian as I was expecting but still good.
Update. We recently went again and we asked for pitcher of water with our meal for drinks. They wouldn't serve us water but gave us little cups and said we can get it in the bathroom! Which was disgusting. Would've walked out but already paid for pizza. Never going back.
Have stopped for pizza both times we went to visit the Newport mansions. Great service and the pizza was soooooo good. Even got some cinnamon rolls for dessert. You guys rock, my whole family loved this place.
Looked on line found a 1 topping pizza and 16 boneless wings for 26.99 kind of expensive but I love their wings. I called to order the girl on the phone who buy the way was rude tells me 38.39? What I told her that's not what's advertised on line she says" Owner hasn't updated the on line menu" false advertisement. I should of gotten for the price it was advertised for. Any other places you go to and that happens you always get advertised price. I understand there's inflation but 40$ for pizza and wings. Crazy. It only cost 2/3$ to make a pizza and the boneless wings are the most expensive. Won't be ordering from here anymore!
Good food but don’t trust the prices online they have gone up on average 50% over the past year
We’ve been going here for over 15 years at the old location & this new one: The best wings & pizza in town ️ The Joanna’s Field Green Salad is my personal favorite & my daughter won’t eat eggplant parm from anywhere else. Highly recommend for takeout ️ Gretchen & the rest of the staff are always extremely friendly & prompt- excellent service, price, & quality!
Dined in. The staff was very friendly. Food came out fast and was very delicious. Definitely will be going back
Food is good but their customer service is terrible! The website has completely different offers than what is offered in-store. You would think that they would honor it? No they don’t. Horrible business management!
Tasty bread sticks, hot and crispy fries, food was great. I believe the owner was working that day and even though she was extremely busy with back house work, she was extremely friendly, attentive and welcoming. Definitely coming back next time we're in the area.
Excellent Food. Try the cinnamon rolls! And the portions for all of the rest of their entrees and appetizers, are huge! I would only suggest a more robust, blue cheese dressing. I got delivery, just recently.
