Mr. O at the Warwick location was great! We took our daughter for a trial class and signed up on the spot. He was so engaging but made sure to reiterate the goals they were working on. We’re excited to see how she grows in this class

Since my son Austin started back in March, his confidence has improved. He is getting stronger physically, mentally, emotionally and socially! I can not begin to thank the staff at Mastery - Warwick for everything they have done!

Mastery came in to our school and had a great presentation for our students! The students were engaged throughout the assembly and kept talking about it afterwards. Other teachers mentioned how attentive the students were during and after. Would highly recommend to others! Thank you so much for coming to our school.

Discovered this place through an event. Went with my 4 year old who had a great time with Mr. Martinez at her introductory lesson. All the instructors there were very welcoming and incredibly friendly.

My grandson who was having some difficulties at school joined this program. I can't say enough about how great the staff is there, his confidence has grown and he loves it there.

Our experience was great! My son will start his Martial Arts journey. He will learn a lot and will become stronger mentally and physically. The trainers work well with kids and help build confidence.

We have been part of the mastery family for a year and a half now, first starting in little dragons and now in the 7+ beginner ranks. I never could have predicted that attending a birthday party in February 2022 would eventually lead us to where we are today, but I am so glad that it did!

My son is diagnosed with ADHD and focusing/listening/sitting still are not his strong suits. We joined mastery in hopes of improving his focus and self-discipline and he truly has grown leaps and bounds. I have a video from his first class where he was spinning around and being silly and we love to watch it now and again as a reminder of how far he has come. Over the last 1.5 years, he has competed in two mastery championships, won 4 medals, and is (slowly) improving his confidence! This is the longest he has ever stayed in an activity and I’m hopeful that he will reach his goal of becoming a black belt some day.

All of the instructors have been wonderful but special shout-out to Mr. Martinez for his unwavering patience with my kiddo. It doesn’t go unnoticed!

Aiden had been wanting to do martial arts for awhile and finally had the chance when Mastery did a local after-school program. Since joining Mastery back in March, Aiden's confidence has greatly improved. There are some days at school or at home where he isn't feeling his best but when he is at Mastery, Aiden is engaging, positive, and does his best. He is ALWAYS in a good mood afterwards. It's nice to see Aiden with children who share a common interest and can work as a team. All of the instructors do a great job making everyone feel included and involved. Thanks Mastery

My daughter Adalynn is currently doing the trial classes and at her first class I already saw a change after her one on one with instructor Anthony Pezzillo. He is amazing with the kids. If you looking for your child to learn confidence, respect, "a yes I can" attitude then go to Mastery Martial Arts and let them know Jennifer McDevitt referred you!

Joining Mastery Martial Arts has been one of the best decision we’ve made. Not only does your child learn challenging skills making them physically stronger, they also become more confident and mentally strong. Highly recommend!

Our son has been attending Mastery in Warwick for about 4 months and the change in him is already incredible! His confidence is up, he is able to focus much better, and he is showing more excitement every day. We work on things at home and he's even getting great at cheering on his classmates to do better! Already a different attitude from when we walked in the door! Big credit to Mr. Martinez, Mr. Monaco and the entire team in Warwick!

We are pleasantly pleased with Mastery Martial Arts. We signed our son up for the initial two week course. He was given a private lesson where an instructor, Mr. Martinez, went over initial moves to acclimate him before he went to the full class.

We signed our son up for a full year along with the leadership program.

The classes are well organized and usually have two instructors to help train students. Every eight weeks the students go over the lessons learned and positive reaffirmations to attain their next level belt. Mr. Martinez keeps the class structured and fun, utilizing movement, music, and challenges.

Mastery also offers a leadership program, a 30 minute session for a group of students after the martial arts training. They teach life lessons and skills. My son enjoys the camaraderie among the students and I’ve see a positive outcome in the few months he’s been attending.

I highly recommend Mastery Martial Arts.

They claim that the program is appropriate for 3 years old and up but unfortunately is not. My kid started when was 3.5 and was put in class with all kids 5 and up and everything was based on kindergarten skill numbers, words.all the 3 yr old kids were bored and left behind. Their solution was to put toddler into privates. No thanks if your program is not designed for toddlers you should not enroll them! It seems almost a scam! Anyway my kid now is enrolled in a true toddler program and really enjoys it

My partner and I are child psychologists and enrolled our oldest child in Mastery Martial Arts in September. We had been looking for the right martial arts program not only to grow physical skills but to give our child a chance to practice self regulation, confidence, and courage to step outside of their comfort zone. We could not be happier with the experience at Mastery so far.

The structure and content of the Mastery classes are truly developmentally informed and use principles of behaviorism to grow skills and build motivation: Each half-hour class is game-based, holding kids' attention while expanding their physical and psychological skill set. In each class, kids have a chance to earn yellow stripes (based on caregivers' reports of how they're progressing with goals at home, such as first-time listening or honesty) and black stripes (based on skills practice in class). Across each multi-week unit, kids practice a distinct set of martial arts moves and social-emotional skills (such as discipline, balance, listening, and self-esteem) before assessing and celebrating what they've learned in a belt test and graduation ceremony. In this way, kids have a chance to celebrate small accomplishments between their belt tests and bigger ones at each graduation ceremony. This builds both motivation and accountability.

Throughout, kids practice executive function skills such as inhibitory control (stopping an automatic response and doing something else instead!), focusing and sustaining attention, and listening to and comprehending instructions. These skills are necessary to all kinds of social, academic, and physical tasks, and each week I hear caregivers reporting on how they see them showing up in their kids' behavior at home and at school.

In closing, one piece of unsolicited advice for caregivers: Give your child time as they get started. As with any behavior change, it may take weeks or even a couple of months to see improvement; but I encourage you to trust in these instructors-and in your child. As ours got started, my partner and I had to hold ourselves back from jumping in to try to get our child to participate. We even briefly considered pulling them out. Instead, we did our best to trust in these instructors' expertise and in our child's courage, and I'm so glad we did. I doubt we're the only parents who have witnessed our child's bravery, self-esteem, and self regulation blossom since starting martial arts with Mr. Pezzillo and Mr. Martinez. As a parent, this has been such a joy.

And perhaps the best part? My kid is excited to put on that uniform and head to class every time.
