Old Island Pub reviews
18Taco Tuesday is to die for here. The food is always fresh and delicious. The specials are always amazing. I've yet to have a bad meal at this place.
My absolute favorite place to eat off season. You MUST get the pub fries with the proprietary dipping sauce! My go- to is always the broccoli Reuben (vegetarian). It NEVER disappoints. The staff is so very friendly as well.
What a treat! We were there on Saturday and some locals brought in fresh oyster a buck a shuck. Add a nice glass of wine and enjoy. You must have the local crab soup. It was out of this world delicious!
Quaint, cozy pub. Patty melt was delicious, cod was fantastic. Great service and friendly staff.
Food was great. Service is friendly. It is popular enough that it reaches capacity and orders can take time. Just plan accordingly, because given the friendly crowd hanging out there is not an issue.
Friendly service. We had a private function and I felt so welcomed by all there. The food prepared was top notch! Food cooked so uniquely and served to perfection. Will definitely be back! Thank you to all.
I visited the island for 26 days in August/September. After trying every bar, pub and restaurant on the island, the Old Island Pub is the only one that kept us coming back time and time again. Everything on the menu, yes even the hot dog is expertly prepared. Time and experience has gone into crafting these menu items. The pub fries are a work of art and are a must order. Good food takes time so if you're in a hurry or are Hangry and ready to throw a fit you might want to go elsewhere. Aside from the food, the bartenders and crowd that gather here are genuinely awesome and make the OIP the ideal place to go if you want to get a taste of life on the island. We made friends here that we will certainly be back to see.
Everything about this place is incompetent. They should be happy to have customers but when the few random people walk in (aside from the cigarette smoking locals), they should try to figure it out. This place is truly unbelievable. Good luck with your locals-only hillbilly business.
Without a doubt 10x better than poor man's pub. Friends girlfriend got hurt and needed a bandaid. They wouldn't even give a band aid. Right there off the bat we decided not to get food there. So we went next door to old island pub and no questions asked gave her a bandaid. We stayed played pool, had drinks, got awesome food and the music was something to reminisce on. 12/10 for me/ us. 12/10 will be coming back every time we come back to block island. Ps. The bartender was a delight to talk to.:)
My wife and I have been here many times and always have a great time. It is my favorite place to eat and drink on Block Island. A lot of locals hang out here and not many tourists which is what my wife and I prefer. The food is excellent as well as the drinks. The Tuna Tostada was literally one of the best dishes I've ever eaten in my life! Everything else my wife and I have eaten here was also excellent. The staff is extremely friendly as well. They also have a pool table and Golden Tee!
If you visit Block Island and prefer a local less touristy hangout definitely check out the Old Island Pub.
Slammed our butts down in some seats here after walking 11 miles. Was hoping for standard bar food but instead was given an insane platter of smoked bluefish with a truly unnecessary portion of very good pickles and a tuna tostada that had absolutely no business being that good at that price at what otherwise reads as a friendly locals bar. Came back again the next day for another one.
Great food nicest people really good time hanging out with friends can't wait to come back again.
Great spot. Kerri is an awesome bartender/server and makes all feel welcome. Highly recommend this hidden gem.
First time to the island. It was off season so most restaurants are closed. We went here on a recommendation from one of the local scooter rental employees. Early afternoon, they were very busy and obviously short staffed like most businesses in recent times. The 3 ladies on staff were doing a great job. We sat at the bar because there were no tables available. The wait for food was longer than expected but, all food came out hot and tasted amazing. Portions were average to above average. We got burgers, a cubano, and clam cakes sandwich. Longest review I ever wrote, was very impressed with this place all around.
Great bat. Good food. Good people and they have live music some days. And a pool table to boot. Awesome place to be
I experienced the same issue as a previous reviewer. Very disappointed with the staff. Bartender is a PR1CK. Not sure if its because my wife is a minority or what his issue is or the waitresses issue was as well. Took an hour for 2 tacos when they prepped the day before from what the waitress stated. Others that arrived after us received their food before us. They only serve burritos and tacos on Tuesday's so it wasn't like we were asking for something outlandish.
Great place, awesome staff and the best sandwich I have had.the broccoli Reuben! Delicious! Looking forward to going back.
Terrific experience. Great service and attentive bartender. I only wish they had a dart board!
