Roger Williams Park Zoo reviews
22 Had a good time at the lantern festival on the 4th of July. Thought we would be there for 30 minutes, but ended up walking through the entire zoo!
Beautiful!
Came for the Asian lanterns. Was pretty awesome to see the amount of detail and color everything had. Kids had a great time.
My husband and I went on a rainy day, umbrellas in hand. There are signs at the entrance reading prepaid ticket holders only, but you may purchase at the park. We had a peaceful day enjoying the animals and the lanterns throughout the park. The lanterns were for Chinese new year I believe. They were beautiful. The park has wonderful areas for children. If I lived near here I'd buy an annual pass!
It's small, but it's a nice little zoo.
Definitely worth a trip.
The prices are good, and the food is a good value for the price, at least for what you're going to find in a zoo. I was expecting it to be more expensive.
I recommend it.
I went to the Asian lantern experience on the early evening of the 4th and it was extremely fun! I would very much recommend it! Unfortunately because I came from outta state I couldn't see all the lights in their magnificence at dark but the fun was still there! Wish I could come again! Cons: there was no hand out brochure or map. Kinda not fun having to Easter egg hunt directories.also I wish that they had had more gifts from the lantern experience. I was really disappointed about that. I had wanted a shirt or a mini lantern or a small book to take home but there was nothing. Disappointed. Roger williams zoo is not my fav but it was worth it just to see the active red pandas! They're nocturnal! Nice job! It was soo much fun! Bring it back with better gifts and stuff!
One of the elephants was swaying from side to side out of physiological distress.: (Their enclosure was WAY to small for elephants. They need room and things to keep them mentally stimulated. I hope they come around and start looking at what’s best for their animals.
My family heads to the zoo once or twice a year. Nice family activity. We love the animals and exhibits. We visited the park during the Halloween season this year for the first time. Awesome jack-o-lanterns. Very creative stuff.
This zoo is great.most of the animal enclosures have multiple viewing angles and ample space for the animals. They aren't just cooped up like most zoos
Where do I start? It's such a great place for kids young and old to learn and play. There are bathrooms all around the park and zoo, including changing stations and handicap accessible ones. Besides seeing the beautiful animals, there are so many activities for people of all ages. Including face-painting, feeding & grooming, nature walks, films and even nighttime events. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The animals are noticeably healthy and have proper care and "enrichment", which the kids can learn all about. There are a few playgrounds and a small water park. Overall, this zoo has done a great job over the years and continues to do so today.
Clearly one of the best zoos in the United States. Animals are in natural habitat there are active engaging learning opportunities on for persons of all ages throughout your visit here. I would allow a minimum of four to six hours just to make it through the park.
Get the pass. Go often. Your whole family will love you for it. However, it can be quite expensive without the pass. Becomes a place you visit maybe 1-2 times a year if you don’t have it.
Totally worth visits in the cold weather too. Animals tend to be more active when the have to move about to keep warm.
And the Pumpkin ‘Spooktacular’ is always worth the bucket of cash it takes to get in there. My family has always had fun going.
Went during summer 2018. Reasonably priced, they have face painting for the kids and they are actually really good and friendly with the children. Goodluck during jack-o-lantern spectacular though lol.
We went to the jack o lantern festival, we had purchased tickets online prior to the event. The space was congested at first because they direct you to go through the zebra path. I felt that this year it was better when you get into the pumpkin space as they were limiting groups through it vs everyone just entering themselves. The pumpkins are beautiful and a great way to kick off October!
This is my bbn first time going to the Pumpkin Spectacular. It was amazing by the artwork. So much to see, definitely worth the admission price!
Beautiful places to take stroll and enjoy the views. Very family friendly and they host many different events.
Visited for the jack o lantern spectacular. Would definitely recommend the event for a family outing.
Great local zoo. Ample parking.
In addition to the animal displays, a huge playhouse and play area for the kids, plus added seasonal activities.
Fantastic except for the guy who was smoking. I am extremely allergic. I talked to him.he rudely said, "Got it. ". But kept on. No worker anywhere to report him. Need to have more people keeping an eye out for those people who can't follow rules to escort them out.
Went to pumpkin festival. SOOOOO DISAPPOINTED. The large pumpkins were nice even though not exclusively carved (used stick ons). Small pumpkins this year looked like they were done by second graders. Won't be going back. NOT worth $18 like it used to be.
Let me just say that I love the Zoo. However, they need to step up their game when it comes to being accessible. The doors to the indoor exhibits do not have push to open wheel chair friendly access.
