Sax's Steak & Pizza, East Providence RI

It's been a while since I had been there, I decided to stop and get a chicken Parm sub and a spinach pie as usual they never disappoint

Fish & Chips are so delicious and the fried chicken dinner, taste better than Kfc. Tender fresh &: crisp. ️

I always get the steak sub #10 and onion rings everytime. They are both the best I have ever had.

We stumbled upon this gem for a late afternoon lunch. Steak sub was fantastic. Hot and fresh. Wings were hot, crispy and the sause was excellent. Staff was super friendly. We cannot wait to come back to try a pizza!

This is one of my absolute favorite pizza (& more) places! It's my go to! Always delicious, always consistent! Could not recommend them more.

I recall getting steak sandwiches from Sax back in the early to late 1970's.large steak, cheese, and onions sandwiches. I recall joking about Sax. "salt, pepper, napkins. " as that's what the workers would ask you as you were paying for your sandwich.
50 years plus and sandwiches are still "THE BOMB! "

I've been going to this place for over 10 years. In that time, they have consistently provided reasonable pricing and great food. I think the locals would agree that Sax's isn't just "another steak or pizza joint"; they're an East Providence staple. Not just because they serve delicious food. But because, for over 50 years, they have inspired several generations of fond family memories with the love and passion that they've poured into every meal that their customers have come to consider as comfort food. Because, they truly care about their community. Because, they truly wish to satisfy every customer that places an order. That's why Sax's Steak & Pizza is one of the best local businesses I have ever purchased food from. I look forward to having them as part of the EP community for many more years!

Alright I already know what people will say but come on it’s 2022. Why does my Hispanic girlfriend have to get literally ignored when all she did was go there to pick up an ordered pizza that was placed over the phone. It’s bad enough with everything else going on. It would be nice if someone taught you guys proper customer service and to acknowledge EVERY human being that walks through your doors. It’s a good thing I didn’t tag along but the way she was upset I suggested not spending any money on your “business”. The only reason I’m even writing this review is to let others know that if you’re of minority background expect to be treated as if you were glass because these peoples will look right through you as if you weren’t even there. Experience staff, orders always done correctly. Good food.have been coming to Sax pizza for over 40 years. Times have changed but there food has always been great.

Our first time in the area and Sax's was recommended for the steak and cheese. My son loved his steak and cheese, so packed full of meat and I had the fresh hand dipped fish and rings. Absolutely, hands down the best meal I ever had. And the staff, all family is the so friendly. Will be making Sax's our go to place everytime we're in the area.

Always been the best place for sandwiches, pizza, calzones, ect. If you haven't tried your missing out on really good food

Steak and cheese was real good.wasn't the biggest one I have ever received but it was tasty.the staff was very kind as well

If you like onion rings with a light, flaky, crispy and extremely tasty batter then this is the place! Everything else is delicious also but the onion rings are the best in the state. Portions are large and price is cheap.

Sax's is an Easy Providence institution. They have AMAZING steak and cheese subs. For years I could not understand why anyone got anything else from there, and then I tried the cheeseburger subs. Now I have such a hard time deciding what to get!

To be honest, everything they sell is amazing.

The search is over - this is the last steak & cheese shop you’ll have to go to.steak, extra cheese, peppers, mushrooms, onions, & mayo.

This is my go to for fish n chips and they make a delicious pizza. I appreciate the team that is always fast and friendly. Gets super busy at night and weekends but they still are super friendly and respectful. Make sure to always leave a tip, it's hot in that kitchen. I'll always recommend Sax over fast food dominoes or others!

The Sax's Steak special pizza is the bomb. I was never a pizza lover. But sax's pizza changed that. We are going to get one tonight! The meatball grinder was so goid to.

I’ve been living in East Providence for several months now and I’ve tried pizza from many different places. Unfortunately I called to place an order for a BBQ chicken pizza and was given a buffalo chicken pizza instead. There was something off with this pizza — the smell, taste, and look of the pizza, including a pink-colored sauce, was nauseating in hindsight. I ended up eating about half and throwing the rest away. That day and especially the following day, which is when I’m writing this, was awful — some of the strongest stomach pains I’ve ever experienced coupled with mild nausea and severe diarrhea. I’ve tried to think of what else I could’ve eaten that put me in this position and I can’t think of anything except for the pizza. I’m considering reporting this to the local authorities that oversee food safety.

Never, ever again. Negative stars.

What a good mine a treasure find. Pizza is awesome but the steam sub is so delicious. A large is incredible. Could make to meals. Ok one weakness in have is Onion Rings and homemade is what your on for - What a delightful & Delicious treats. Got to put this place on your bucket list!
